anyone having issues after software update ...make sure to do factory reset after every major software updates. Its the only way to clean the bugs which crawls after update.

J7 2016 vs J7 Prime
1) Both have 5.5 " screen.
J7 2016 have AMOLED display which is 720p and J7 Prime has TFT 1080 screen.
Here I would prefer j7 2016 because AMOLED display is very efficient in saving battery and in J7 2016 even the screen is 720p you don't feel it as 720p because it's display is very well calibrated and colour produced is accurate and deep.
In long term AMOLED 720p display is better than a 1080p TFT display.
2)Both have same battery capacity and similar processors . Here the big deal is the battery consumption of j7 prime is greater than j7 2016 because of TFT display.
3) RAM
J7 2016 has 2 GB and in case of J7 prime it has 3 GB RAM.
Honestly saying samsung is providing good RAM management in their phones. Using j7 2016 for more than 6 months I doest get disappointed in 2GB RAM of j7 2016. In real life you don't get upset using a 2GB ram provided in samsung j7 2106. Both devices working flawlessly.And you cannot differentiate both device performance as a normal user.
3) Both rear camera is 13 MP doing good job
4) For front camera j7 has 5 MP and in j7 Prime it is provided with 8 MP camera. You would get better result in j7 prime in case of resolution of 8MB . But both phones selfies look similar and you cannot differentiate whether it is of 5MB or 8MB.
5)Both device look premium in hand.Hats off to design team of samsung.
6)Both have similar storage space, 4G VoLTE,Dual SIM support, front camera flash.
7) Addition in j7 Prime is finger print scanner and a gorilla glass. Here for me finger print scanner is not a big deal.
And in case of gorilla glass those are
scratch resistant. But if your phone accidentally fall on floor the screen will definitely Brock into pieces.
And if you need a repair you would need to pay almost 60 to 70 percentage of money of that phone to repair the screen.
So I would prefer J7 2016 as a best companion than J7 prime in long-term perspective.

Bought this phone last year, June. Now the phone keep showing no signal even swap the sim card, although still within warranty period, it still very troublesome for me coz the Samsung Service Centre very far from my place... Not recommended.

As we know that j7 2016 is without COMPASS. My questions are,
1.. If you have used maps on this device, how accurate and comfortable is the navigation without compass?
2.. with your experience, please tell the difference in navigation with a device having compass to that of without compass.

Bassem (Egypt), 21 Mar 2017im going to buy mobile for my wife as a gift and im confuse... moreWell, first of all, I'm J7 2016 user and I can say you can't go wrong with it. And as far as I saw screen on J7 is better quality than on J7 Prime. CPU is the same, but apps will run better on regular J7 since screen has a lower resolution. There is no LED notification light in J7, but you can turn on front flash to act like one, so yeah... There it is, kinda. And for the front camera, I'm not really sure how it is on the Prime, but picture quality on J7 is also good, and it has that flash on the front so it is better that Prime in that one. Also, J7 has great battery life and performance overall. So yeah, if you ask me I would go for regular J7, but if you really want that fingerprint sensor then go for Prime. I don't see other advantage over regular J7, to be honest.

My Samsung Galaxy J7 automatically goes to Samsung messages when someone calls. Phone doesn't allow me to answer????? How do I turn this feature off?? Please & thanks. jj

im going to buy mobile for my wife as a gift and im confused between J7 Prime or J7 2016
both telephone have some advantages & disadvantages.
1st : i want to know if the TFT screen of Prime is really different than the emoled screen of 2016 ??
2nd: if the processor of Prime (octa core 1.6 cortex A53) is better than processor of 2016 ??
3rd: is there no any flash / LED indicator in J7 2016 ??
4th: if the front camera flash (5 mb) of J7 2016 will make a big difference in Selfie pic over the front camera without flash in Prime (8 mb)???

ravindu , 20 Mar 2017how about the battery and display?Battery is great. It always lasts me for two days, no matter what I do. Sometimes even three days. And for display, it's also good for me. It might be only 720p but quality is better than most of the other 720p displays around.
