This phone is working fine on Nougat(Well atleast for me)but the problem is the bad ram management, because it makes this device slowly and makes it heat a bit after some time but after getting an app called Kill Apps, this app kinda helps me in some situations.Other than that everything else is fine.Hope Samsung fixes ram management in a future update.

AnonD-708981, 02 Dec 2017Really? I went to the nearest Samsung service centre. They ... moreWith a Windows PC you can downgrade your mobile without any problems. Things you need are1. Samsung usb driver for mobile phones, should be installed on your PC. 2. MM Ron for your mobile, it can be downloaded from sammobile(slow download) or updato.com(bit faster than sammobile). Make sure that you have downloaded the correct firmware for your device. 3. Latest Odin, installed on your PC.
Extract the rom zip file downloaded and keep that file, with an md5 extension, in pc. Reboot your mobile to download mode, to do this, power off, remove battery for few seconds and put it back. Press home button, volume down and power button together, you will get a warning message, ignore it and press volume up, now the device is in download mode. Run Odin, please do not change any default settings in Odin, connect the phone to pc with stock/original usb cable, Odin will detect your device and you can see the message device added. Click on AP tab in Odin, a new window will open, now find the unzipped md5 flie and click open. Now Odin will check md5 values..... wait for a minute, then you ca.n see a message, md5 checksum passed successful. Now press start tab, Odin will show flashing stages and finally you can see 'pass' in a green tab. Now remove battery, go to recovery mode and do a factory reset by wiping data/cashe... I hope you understand, if you have any questions just search in XDA forum or share your experiences in GSM arena, I can help you. I do not have any technical knowledge because I am a Chef but I do all these things with my experience and sorry for bad English.. good luck

I advise you to go to any local mobile repairing shop and ask them. They can definitely do this. Do not go to Samsung's official store. Sorry, I'm not good in English

And yeah, I never wanted to update. I was really "more than happy" with Marshmallow. But I just couldn't get the "update notification" inside the settings app to go away. I even called up Samsung care and asked them if it was possible to get rid of that notification. They said it was not. And one day, I accidently tapped it. Once it started downloading the update, there was no way to cancel. I quickly turned off the wifi. But it picked it up again when I turned the wifi back on after coupla hours. That's how I ended up with Nougat

I wish there was a complete step-by-step tutorial on how to downgrade to Marshmallow, with do's and don't's. Having never done it before and knowing the risks involved makes me think twice (and thrice) before doing it. I would be more than happy with Marshmallow, won't need any damn update!

J5(2016) got Android 7.1.1 with Samsung Experience 8.5,while this device got Android 7.0 with Samsung Experience 8.1
J5(2016)has less bugs because it runs on 7.1.1 while the more powerful J7(2016) has way more bugs on 7.0
We're hopefully waiting for Samsung to release Android 7.1.1 for us so that it could fix all the ram management issues and battery drain issues. If not then we might go straight to Android Oreo just like the S8 will(skipping Android 7.1.1)but living half a year with pain....eeh then idk to be honest. But all we know is that this device will receive Android Oreo(has been leaked;not confirmed)but J5(2016) likely won't get Android Oreo sadly.Hoping that Samsung will push Android 7.1.1(we need to make Samsung do it)before Android Oreo, fixing all kind of issues and preparing for the upcoming latest Android Oreo.

Nougat update needs few charge cycles to stability of battery life.
do following steps and try.
full discharge to 0%
full charge to 100%
after that, use phone as regular way. you should use nougat at least 5 days before compare battery life with mm.
p.s
Mm have non linear battery indicator. 100% to 50% slow. 50% to 0% is faster.
in nougat, battery is linear.

AnonD-709674, 29 Nov 2017Wait some days, after some days he will be fine with this u... moreYou're right. And I think it's perfectly fine that we compare, no? Because the least we expect is that our phone runs as well as it was, prior to the update.
You're right though. He might just get used to the issues, and might learn to live with it. But an update is supposed to make a phone better overall. Just adding new features at the cost of some really important aspects like multitasking, battery backup..etc, that's not what an update is supposed to do.
There are users who are completely satisfied with the update, there are users who are not. Those who are having issues, it's completely natural that they want to go back to marshmallow.
I really hope Samsung rolls out an update that fixes the issues. Though I'm not holding my breath. I don't hold out much hope

It probably isn't as complicated as it seems. But I've never done it before, and the fact that it might potentially brick my phone makes me really nervous
