Go to settings->Device maintenance->Storage->Storage settings->Device memory = Other.
Around 1 GB data showing there.

    AnonD-350642, 12 Nov 2017Surprise to see samsung j5 ( 2016 / 2015 ) , samsung j7 ( 2... moreI'm not too crazy about Oreo, so I'm not really looking forward to it. I just want them to roll out an update that would fix the ram management issues. Ram management is poor on Nougat. Apps & webpages reload constantly. And yeah, I do hope we get the 7.1 update. From what I know, multitasking is comparatively better on 7.1, compared to 7.0

        Can someone please confirm what amount of RAM is free with no apps running in the background? Go into Settings --> Device Maintenance --> Memory. Make sure there is no app running in the background (other than the Settings app of course). Thanks

          AnonD-350642, 12 Nov 2017Surprise to see samsung j5 ( 2016 / 2015 ) , samsung j7 ( 2... moreAre you sure that both J5's got them? One of my family members has J5 2015 and there is still no Nougat, and I really doubt it will arrive since it was already updated from Lollipop to Marshmallow. Same thing for J7 2015, I saw that only version that originally came with Marshmallow will get Nougat, and version that was already updated from Lollipop to Marshmallow won't get it. And yes, there might be a slight chance that we will get Oreo in future since CPU in 2017 model is the same as ours. But yes, it's strange how cheaper phones got 7.1, and we are on 7.0.

                              AnonD-712194, 10 Nov 2017How's the multitasking (how much apps can you keep running ... moreYeah, update size is the same like it was for me, so no worries there. And for multitasking, I can't really say too much since I'm used to "kill" my apps before I lock my phone, but as far as I see, it's a bit better than on Marshmallow, but no major difference. Battery life is the same for me, it all depends how you use it in the end. Overall, I don't regret that I updated, since there are new features like multi window and adjusting levels of flash when you use it as a lamp, and UI just looks better. Only thing that I noticed is when you are on lock screen clock takes like a half second to appear, but it's the same for everyone. So yeah, I would go for it.

                                Crocop, 09 Nov 2017Looks like it all depends on region. I updated mine to 7.0 ... moreHow's the multitasking (how much apps can you keep running without reloading when switching between them) and battery life compared to marshmallow? Everyone seems to complain about those 2. I'm also from Croatia so I wanna know if those bugs affect us too. I got the notification about the update few days back but haven't updated yet. The update is 1003.10mb big and the build numbers say BQI7/BQI2/BQG9...is your same too?

                                  After 26mb update security patch remains same as before.I did not notice any improvement but multitasking seems slightly improve.I don't know it happened because of factory reset my phone or because of 26 mbps update?my device model is j710fn(India).overall my battery still drain so much in the night while standby mode I always turn off all wi-fi ,internet but my battery drain up to 10%-15% when i sleep.

                                    Still NO 7.0 update for Sri Lanka.

                                      Looks like it all depends on region. I updated mine to 7.0 and I have no problems so far here in Croatia. I had my friend's J7 2017, and mine J7 2016 today in my hands and they are performing almost exactly the same. Main differences are in fingerprint scanner, full HD screen and build quality, but it's really not something groundbreaking to me. So yeah, if you have problems, you can either wait for Samsung to push update to fix them, reset the phone (might fix it), or just downgrade to Marshmallow (don't do it if you didn't do it before, since it can brick your phone).

                                        In 7.0 update there is PROBLEM. When you are typing with keyboard and the screen is locked , when you want to unlock you can't because the patern isn't visible or pin code , so the solution is one and only - restart. Samsung please fix it.
