Anonymous, 03 Nov 2017I'm not sure if I should upgrade to Oreo, if It does come o... moreWhen Oreo comes out i think you should give it a go,because it might improve the phone a lot,which is normal in Samsung updates.Mine version is SM-J710F (UAE Version) and it has no issues such as the battery backup,so it wouldn't be a problem for me to update to Android Oreo.Once you upgrade could you tell us if it improves this device.Best Regards.

AnonD-709927, 03 Nov 2017i just bought Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 Duos SM-J710FN version... moreThis is not a scam version, however it's full of issues even after upgrading to Nougat.So instead of J710FN get J710F (UAE Version) which has no issues after Nougat update and battery backup is fine.Don't stick with Marshmallow because it's full of bugs that got resolved after the Nougat update.(Such as: Camera failing to launch,etc...)

I'm using the same model, so you should be fine. A word of caution - Don't update it to Nougat 7.0. I repeat, don't! (Unless you really wanna try out the new features, don't care much about battery backup, and if you don't multitask a lot). You'll thank me later :)
But again, it's for you to decide!

I'm not sure if I should upgrade to Oreo, if It does come out. I'm afraid it might slow down the phone. It's true that Nougat has slowed it down, only just though, might not be noticable. What is clearly noticable, is that J7 2016 can't multitask as well on Nougat, as it used to do on Marshmallow. Heck! Even the browser app struggles to keep three webpages in memory. As soon you you switch to WhatsApp, or gallery, and come back, the pages reload. That's why only gripe about Nougat. I'm afraid Orea might slow it down further. And I know it for a fact that battery backup isn't as strong as it was on Marshmallow. It's still decent though, but it was just heavenly on marshmallow! As I mentioned earlier, I'm afraid Oreo only is going to make it worse. I hope I'm wrong though. In fact, I'd just love it if I'm proved wrong lol

I don't believe it until I see some proof or screenshot, to be honest. I only saw S8 and S8 Plus got beta, not even Note 8. So I really doubt we will get it that fast. I mean, why would they choose J7 2016 over 2017 one, and even A series and Note. Even if we get it, it will be alot later.

The J7 2016 is almost qualified to receive 8.0 Oreo more sure it will receive it. There is no way to stay at 7.0 and J5 2016 J7 2015T J3 2016 to stay with 7.1.1.Who received 7.1.1 does not receive 8.0.

I'm not a big mobile gamer but games also work like they worked before and even game mode was added, so no problems there. My version is J710FN, by the way.
