And as soon as I click OK, the screen turns off. Can you please tell me what is the use of this *#0228#.

honey7894, 28 Jul 2017I have been using this device since october 2016 without an... moreThat is sad. Personally I believe a phone's battery and car's mileage depends on the user. Anyway let's park the car on garage and talk about the battery here.

First make sure you are using a original Samsung charger which comes with the device to charge the battery. Please please do not use any other charger. Recently there are few cases of battery blast (including devices from Mi, Lenevo etc) in India and the phone makers says this happens due to using cheap third party chargers which either over charges or under charges the battery.

Second, when charging the device shut off mobile data, wi-fi, location etc. Also make sure you are not using any animated wallpapers and screensavers on your device, as they eats up a lot of battery. If possible keep the device off and charge it. It is the best way to charge the battery fast.

Third, what kind of protection you are using for your device like flip cover or back cover. Make sure they are not very tight or deep to stick the heat of the device. As J7 Prime is a metal device, it needs some air to cool off. So try to charge the battery using and without using the covers to see the difference of the battery.

Fourth, make sure your device has latest upgrade and updates. Keep your apps fully updated. Also try to stay away from apps like Clean Master, Battery Doctor etc as they will harm your device in long run.

Fifth, you have not mentioned what memory card you are using. But try to use a Class 10 from Samsung EVo+ as I have 2 on my 2 devices and never faced any issues. Slower class 4 or 6 cards are cheap but they slows down the device and uses more battery. Also do not use 128 GB memory card on your device with 40 GB data; instaed use a 64 GB card. I mean don't use the maximum card because you can afford it and in future you will need it. Till than use a smaller card. As the card goes bigger the processor takes more resources to scan it, so the battery. I use 32 GB with about 20 to 25 GB data which is sufficient for me.

Anyway that is a long list of advices. But I hope you will get some help by using them. Regards.

                            Nougat update date please

I have been using this device since october 2016 without any problem and completely satisfied. But after 2-3 months of purchasing, I noticed that while charging device, the battery percentage goes up to 91 or 92%, then it goes back to 87 or 88% in decreasing order like this 92%,91%,90%,89%,88%,87% and then again goes upto 92 or 93%. It stucks at 93% for about 40 to 45 minutes and after that in just 5 minutes it reaches too 100%. I thought maybe it was due to wrong battery stats so I calibrated the battery like completely discharging and let it switch off itself and completely charging till 100% without any interuption. I have done this process 3 to 4 times, but still no change. Is there something wrong with the battery, phone or software? Or should I take it to the service centre. I had even hard reset my phone. And yes when I charge it from 0 to 100% it almost takes 3 hours and 45 minutes. Is it normal for 3300 mah battery or is something wrong. I had already replaced cable and checked and even checked with other j7 prime chargers but still problem. Any solutions please.

Mr G, 28 Jul 2017nop is doest have notification light my GF has a j7 prime a... moreMr. G. First of all make sure your GF has a original Samsung J7 Prime; because lots of fake devices are selling from Chinese companies there as J7 Prime.

Second, The notification light or actually LED can be shut off to save battery. I think somehow you or your GF has diable it accidently or someone for prank. Now you should enable it by going to "Setting >>> Display >>> LED INDICATOR.

But somehow if you don't see any "LED indicator" on display menu. Than it is either a take device or it may be a different galaxy device. Regards.
