Bob, 18 Mar 2019Sadly, with the release of the Oppo Reno, this phone won't ... moreReno doesn't have proper optical zoom and the optics themselves are tiny

Perhaps we should make a petition to Samsung for Android update, if that fails, maybe a GoFundMe to raise money for a Lineage OS project? Some cash would be a hefty reward for a person who would develop a working OS...

Anonymous, 19 Mar 2019Why not updated to android 9 while it is LTE ?Hello this is android bro not an iPhone, Android vendors mostly are support their product only for 2 years (due to new hardware released every year) including 2 OS upgrade for flagship series, and for low or mid range are given only security updates not OS upgrade

Sadly, with the release of the Oppo Reno, this phone won't be unique anymore. At least it hasn't got a far too big screen!

Since this Samsung also uses Xenon flash like the Nokia Lumia 1020 did, I wonder if you can trigger a slave flash from this Samsung as well?

AnonD-722564, 14 Dec 2017Love this phone! surprises and confuses everyone when a 10x... moreI'd be pleased to have both. actually. (sans the expensiveness. XD) I'd really be pleased to see a Galaxy K9 zoom with the design of the S9, this gorgeous camera. with f/1.7-4.8 variable and selectable aperature. the FPS is a welcom feature. but kept below camera. and all the goodies of the S9.

Love this phone! surprises and confuses everyone when a 10x Optical zoom pops out.
The added thickness isn't much of a big deal, ok so it's much thicker than newer phones but then those feel flimsy and fragile.
For those who don't know the difference between optical and digital zoom is basically that digital zoom isn't really zoom at all. What it does is stretch and crop the image at the same quality so you see larger pixels.
This phone for me is perfect when at gigs and festivals etc when you want to zoom right in to get that shot without having to be right in there in the crowd or by taking a SLR and detachable lens (which normally isn't allowed at these events)
Dear Samsung. Stop releasing expensive phones with minor improvements or software gimmicks and give us a new and updated version of these!
