nabilfullmetal, 07 Jan 2012yes,i wonder how can Samsung tnink they can fight with iphone 4s?lol because iphone 4s has nothing but good apps (which the android market is getting most of) and other than the attractive interface it has no hardware or even that great of software to use. samsung phones are so much better in both hardware and software (thanks to ice cream sandwich)

This is j... moreYes I am replying to my own post! lol
Just an update really as to the battery life of the GN. I have managed to get 68 hours on standby all bar 7% left ( that is an improvement of some 30 hours since new). That is without using the phone other than a couple of texts and to check it every hour to take a screen shot.
I believe the manufacturers can only ever get 240+ hours without the battery even being in the phone! still that is up for debate elsewhere I suppose.
My next task will be surfing the web, downloading apps etc, no WIFI and see what the battery life is like then. (Im not an engineer or tech, just a normal consumer using a phone albeit with very light use)

There are reports coming in about screen issues with this phone and people sending it back for repairs. Please do investigation and update ASAP.
I also read that there is an reception issue with the Verizon version of this as well.

I thought every other android phone except nexus lets u import fb contacts, according to gsm arena that seems to be the case also google has some problem with the way fb contacts are stored on the phone, android is prefered from connectivity and sharing if it doesnt do that, then! ! Guys can anybody confirm abt the fb feature people who already own the phone, respond!! Its not released in my country

This is just a quick note on the battery life of the Galaxy Nexus. It has had about 4 or so charge cycles and I must say it appears that the discharge of the battery without use is a lot better than from new. I still maintain however, that manufacturers claims of 240+ hours on standby are very different than real life use!
Car companies make claims within certain parameters of how many l/100 a car can do. I expect manufacturers of phones to do the same. All they state are the highest values they claim to have achieved presumably without any apps installed and now lights on, without phone calls nor texts, in fact without any form of use with a phone! This is my opinion.. I digress.
I am currently @ 48% with 44hours on standby looking at the stats almost every hour to take a screenhot. I disabled WIFI and bluetooth and have the screen on minimum brightness..I went to the app options and force stopped any apps I wasnt using (FB, MSN).
Previous values when new: 13% @ 33 hours and 11% @ 21 hours, this is without calls and a couple of texts...I think there is a lot to be said about background activity among apps that wish to connect to internet and take your phones serial number too....
When you got battery performance stats from previous phones and ipods etc they did what they said it would do...so I am a little irate with todays claims.
Anyhow, I like the phone, its large screen, the great little widgets etc etc. Its easy to use ( intuitive ) what else can I say...
I do hope this is a diplomatic review.

AnonD-16161, 31 Dec 2011Well... It's not so easy, but let's put it this way : quote... moreLithium Ion (Li-Ion) batteries can be charged anytime without affecting its performance. Li-ion batteries are different from Ni-MH, Ni-Cd batteries, and charging the battery more often between uses actually helps maintain the battery's good health.
Li-ion batteries have no memory and the battery does not need periodic full discharge cycles, it is actually better to avoid full discharge.
