Maggi, 01 Aug 2022Are you on android 12? Yes wiping cache partition is good ... moreYes android 12. No what I mean is i wiped the cache partition after the july update. All updates came out when I started to update to android 12. First was january 2022, i was about to wipe the cache partition but then the june 2022 came out then the july 2022. So my phone restarted 3 times after all updates, i wiped the cache partition like its all in one instead of wiping it every after update.

It improved battery life and the phone is running smoothly but still i'm gonna check it after a long run if it still stays the same or don't have any problems. First update was january 2022 then june 2022 then lastly was july 2022. I wiped cache partition after the july update. Is it okay? I can't wipe partition every update since the phone is forcing you to update to the latest software.

But il say If you don't update then you will get problems with your phone. Apps are updated to latest software. The security update I received for July was just for security. I'm sure there are small fixes in it . But your better updating to latest software. There are reasons why updates are pushed to the phones.

black, 30 Jul 2022samsung really has issues with the messaging app opening on... moreUpdate in setting - software update. After updating reboot into recovery mode and wipe cache partition. I do that after every update. Gets rid of any old residual files left over. You don't need to factory reset set. You will find after updating your phone will run smooth.

black, 30 Jul 2022should you do factory reset first before installing android... moreYou could do a factory reset after installing a new Android OS but that's imo unnecessary stress. I've never(from the days of Android Ice Cream Sandwich to date) done a factory reset before or after installing a new Android OS. For the past 4 years however I've been clearing the cache partition after installing the new OS (and after every security patch).

should you do factory reset first before installing android 12 or is it okay to install directly?

Maggi, 29 Jul 2022Received july security update today. Samsung have doing a reasonably good job with the monthly updates. For me they're definitely easier to download and install than my iOS ones.
