Anonymous, 12 Mar 2016Whatever "24 hours" on "regular use" would only be under 2 ... moreHow about Note 3?
It can't even give at least 18 hours on regular use with under 2 hours of Screen On Time usage!
The most is 6 hours plus extra battery equals 12 hours, will not even reach 18 hours.
        What a waste!

Anonymous, 12 Mar 2016Whatever "24 hours" on "regular use" would only be under 2 ... moreI wonder why non- Note 5 user insist that the Note 5 battery will not last up to 24 hours?
They refuse the testimony of TRUE users and believe comments from non user.
They are not using it and yet have the guts to say absurd things.
Try it first yourself before you conclude!

Removable battery for EXTENDED third-party battery is really what I'm after as I use my Note for heavy LTE download and hotspot. I know guys like me aren't mainstream. But I know I'll slap on a 10000 mAh Zerolemon external juicer as soon as I get the Note 6.

After long thinking My next device will be the Note 5 as the S7 Edge is too expensive now more than note 5 and I love the note series only! To be honest i don't use IR blaster or SD cards at all also the removable batteries are not an issue for me! The design of the device is great & super high quality.. & till now didn't find any review or anybody suffeing from the battery life..So it will replace my note 4 soon with the Silver Titan color :)

As of now, reading the forums I don't see too much issues with battery replacement issues.

For the average user that doesn't think about the costs, they will most likely either settle with a phone that doesn't work and find another one that does until they get it fixed or leave sealed battery phones altogether.

I don't know too many people (including myself) that worry too much about removable batteries. Storage, ya: batteries, no.

How much do battery+labor cost? $100? How many days do you need to wait for the part delivered to the center and next to be worked on? 1 week? Worlds away by just picking up a $25 original extra battery and just replace the degraded one right away.

It is another "fiasco". In this way, Samsung will loses his market share. Far not enough to build a good looking gadget! This gadget made many steps back. Has a poor camera, no Micro SD card slot, no anymore IR, no FM radio, lazy time sampling, and after all this is a very expensive one! I was in fond of Samsung products and I used to buy all premium products until the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. After that I stopped buying new Samsung products hoping to recover the handicap, but they didn't. So I decided to buy a new premium phablet by another manufacturer and I am very satisfied. Sorry for Samsung, but they follows a wrong path...

AnonD-77443, 12 Mar 2016All batteries degrade but the note 4 battery degraded quick... moreIn my opinion: If you can afford a Note 5, you should be able to afford the battery replacement when you need it. Even if someone was on a 2 year contract, I doubt the battery is going to be horrible until close to the 2nd year. Or, if the battery is bad at the end of the 1st year - the replacement should last another.

Not saying it's the answer to a removable battery, but; why buy a phone with a sealed battery and complain when you have to get a replacement?

Anonymous, 11 Mar 2016Same thing about what's going to happen with sealed battery... moreAll batteries degrade but the note 4 battery degraded quicker than my pervious 3 notes. I am pretty sure it is because of the aggressive rapid charging.

The issue with the S6, S7 & GN5 will be worse as the rapid charging is more powerful and the battery is sealed. If you only keep your phone for 12 months its ok but if you have 2 year contracts your phone will be really struggling. I normally only keep my phone for 12 months (apart from the note 4) but will be turning off fast charging most of the time for the GN6.

[deleted post]I'm curious what "regular" use is. Do you do some texts and make some calls through the day? I don't game on my phone but I do videos here and there. Do a lot of browsing (sorry, no Flash - PARAG B). I've never had 24 hours on my Note 5 nor has my fiancé had 24 hours on her Note 5.

What the hell is REGULAR USE?

My thoughts are: why buy a Note 5 if you're going to do basic tasks through the day? That's like buying a gaming computer to surf the Web and use Microsoft Office. Do you even use the phone for what it was intended to do?

                                  Just curious.

I just got my Samsung Note 5 today. Although I do enjoy the phone. I did previously owned the HTC one M8. One big improvement between the phones is the stylus which I'm using as I slide text. It's pinpoint accuracy is fantastic. I do miss my front facing speakers I had on the M8. I also was worried about performance. All together I have 156 applications. On my M8 my background process consumed my phone. All apps are now running on my Note 5 and run perfectly. Battery consumption seems normal for a heavy user like me I'm going to enjoy my wireless charging. I also have on order the wireless battery pack. Transfer was easy. It took a while though. In my transfer I moved 22,012 (yes that many) text messages. All my apps and contacts. It took about an hour to transfer. And about 4 to reorganize. I now have every app on one page in catagories built with folders. Overall great phone besides speaked easy to cover. The Samsung app for utilization on my pc works great. I use Google Drive for school/personal and one drive for work. With my 365 subscription by Microsoft I have all the latest office apps. I also integrated Cortana from windows 10 on my note 5. It really sealed the deal on turning this phone into the ultimate production tool. So sorry HTC, but Samsung was just better at productivity. Apple isn't even a consideration in this productivity level. Sorry to Apple lovers everywhere. Although I enjoy them, Samsung beat you to the productivity level.
