So far the best option to replace my GN4 is the Sony Z5 premium... will probably stick with the GN4 but.

TheNeighbor, 16 Sep 2015Doesn't matter. You'll need some heavy case on that fragile... moreNote5 doesn't need heavy case on its fragile glass back. Just a simple carbon fibre skin on the back is enough as protection. Its is very durable. Made by dBrand. You lose the glossy glass but get a nice grip with the skin which also retain the curved shape.

Its not like Samsung only sell Note5 alone. You make the purchases, your choice. City dwellers buy Note5 if they have fast internet service. The rest of us can go by with simple mid range smartphone that come with sd slot.

[deleted post]Doesn't matter. You'll need some heavy case on that fragile glass back, increasing that frame dimensions. One drop with the naked glass back will at least fracture it. Silicone or TPU will not be enough.

The screen-to-body ratio for the note 5 is 76.83%. I assumed the corners were square but they are not. So it is not 75.9%. It is, even in reality, greater than 76.83%, as I did not take into account that the corners are round. I wonder how they calculate for the ratio.

Maximum data storage is a great advantage - no matter how small number would actually take advantage of this. I remember 128GB being $150+, and after less than a year now it's half that cost. Goes to show how much the demand is low, but I've taken advantage of getting one to increase my Note 3's capavity- absolutely no worries of hitting constant limitation like with a 64GB before for my media downloads.

And I really wonder the omission of the changeable battery as well. Battery swap rental shops are actually popular in Korea. All ZERO charging time. Wireless charging is a joke, even with the new fast one - 2 hours to charge? Also, much more heat will degrade the battery even faster. Also for fast charging.

AnonD-77443, 16 Sep 2015Like I've said before, the big problem with cloud, sidesync... moreThe reality is that Samsung is a Korean company. They built phone base on what is available in their country. Mobile coverage and data cost are not an issues for Korea which have one of the fastest internet in the world and widest mobile coverage(4G LTE-A) in their nation. And originally, Galaxy Note series is a niche device for city people. I wonder why non-city people buy it anyway knowing that it gives that huge disadvantages. Cloud computing is also the reality of the future. External storage like sd card, hard disk, usb drive and others will become obsolete in the future. Everything have it limits. We couldn't possibly built an sd card worth 20TB in the future even if the demand ask for it. It have been several years since the limit of internal storage for phone kept at 128gb maximum. It make more sense to go into cloud storage then letting our scientist and engineer to struggle figuring out to fit 1TB internal storage in our phone just to satisfy our needs.

AnonD-77443, 16 Sep 2015Like I've said before, the big problem with cloud, sidesync... moreOver 7 GB of files to upload to OneDrive took about 2 days via LAN on my service - that's how slow my service is. Even my 4G LTE unlimited data is similar.

Anonymous, 15 Sep 2015Yeah, that makes sense... your phone is full and every time... moreC, even i consider myself and most smartphone users (who do not even come here to comment cause they r too busy to come here )a average+ heavy user .
why a average and a heavy because we r a type of ppl who work the entire week and get extra time only in weekends so we use the smartphone for a very less time or a (average use) in a week however we use the smartphone a lot in weekends (heavy use) .

So, for us 64gb is more than enough .to tell u the fact i also have 16gb on my note2+ a 32gb card even that has labt 8 gb of empty space rightnow ,trust me while buying Note5 i was even thinking that i sud go for a 32gb version considering my usage ( but went for 64gb) on top of that i can easily move my data which i do not use to my laptop or a pc withen mins through superfast wifi connection to free up the space many users like me do this.

I dont like to carry a lot of data on my smartphone which i wont even use .

Dont get me wrong its not like i dont like to play games or watch tv series or movies on my smartphone i love that very much its just that my choices r very much sorted mean i wud only play few best premium games that i like on android 6gb max, i wud only watch good movies and tv series that i like 15gb max, i wud only keep selected collection of music that i like 8gb max , camera and video recording 10gb and misc 5gb so the total is some what 50 to 52 gb and this too is max amt of data size i am giving u .

Most of the times i wud go ranging between 35 to 40gb on a normal use but if i want i can even cut it down to 32gb, i guess the number of users like me are more i.e samsung and many other OEM's are introducing the cheaper 32 gb models more b it s6, s6 edge , note5 or s6 edge+ .if u see the market is flooded with these kind of 32 gb phones .you might feel that nobody is buying it.but thats not true samung has sold lots of 32gb s6 and s6 edge models so did Lg Nexus, Mi pbones , apple phones etc

Users who use there smartphone a lot (who endup complaining here & who have lots of time and they like to keep the screen on day and night ) wud never like the idea of non expandable storage. Btw These type of users r too demanding and r very few compaired to average users.

but if u see the advantage which is a very good one for users like me is that we atleast have the option to use the entire 64 gb as a internal memory and not 32gb like on the note4

My god! this has become a super long essay..sorry for that.

AnonD-77443, 16 Sep 2015Like I've said before, the big problem with cloud, sidesync... moreJust to follow up on cloud issues.

On my PC (with a quick fibre/LAN connection) i get about 800kB/s download from dropbox and 100kB/s from sugarsync (the restriction is at their end not mine).

If i was to download a typical 1GB movie from the cloud it would take 20 minutes with dropbox and 2.8 hours with Sugarsync.

Sure SD cards are slower but that's not an issue if you simply use it for storage of songs, movies, photos etc.

Not saying more batte... moreLike I've said before, the big problem with cloud, sidesync etc is mobile coverage and data costs. It might be fine for someone who spends their life in a city and has unlimited data but that's not the reality for most.

I have Dropbox and sugarsync on several PC's and a laptop but even those have most of the data stored locally on the HDD/SSD. Copying from the cloud is a bit of a pain even with LAN on a PC.

Not saying more batte... moreUnfortunately, cloud even for desktop wired internet PCs are slow for the rest of us. In countries like Korea, Japan, Singapore, their internet is top speed, as I've experienced. 32GB of internal memory will work just fine.

It's an irksome task to either connect a micro USB dongle that sticks out, or have to carry around a wireless portable HDD that lasts 4 hours and can't connect to data at the same time.

Not saying more battery isn't good. Tons of professionals seem to be getting by with the iPhone. That seems to be the new Blackberry.

Don't think Samsung doesn't see that? They see a system that is working and has worked. Not only that: cloud computing is being pretty much forced on us anyways. Those trying to gain presence in the industry by going with the SD Card, removable battery.. they are trying to capitalize on the downfalls of the elephants in the room.

                                      It's not going to last.

The industry is going cloud, even on the desktop. But, with Sidesync; I can swap movies and music easily and quickly on my phone from my laptop or desktop. Or, control my PC no matter where I'm at, swapping files (yes that costs data).

I'm not opposed to what people are complaining about, but, I see the future in this industry.

Sorry, we android user are not familiar with Nokia version of mashup android. Its a mix of Nokia Asha platform with Windows platform except that they replace Microsoft services with Google services. It is a very complicated OS platform. Why did you buy that phone in the first place? Nokia X is a fail attempt at entering the android market. You should replace it with Nokia C1 which is coming soon. Purer version of android (with skin) without Nokia ridiculous mashup compromises.
