        From bad to worse...
I would love to upgrade my Note3. But Samsung bitterly failed with Note 4 and Note 5.
        vs my Note 3.
No microSD card slot ( I already have 128gb +32 gb internal in my Note 3)
        The battery is not user-replaceable
        No IR port (!!!)
        USB 2.0 vs USB 3.0
Any suggestions for other devices / manufacturers?

What irks me is that even though it's a minor feature, omitting the infrared remote function means I'd have to go to our custodian where I work, surrender my id, and fill up paper so I can have the TV remote.

IR is still with even the S6 and S6 Edge - why in the World did anyone in Samsung decided "not in the Note.5 or the Edge+"?

I'd have to say all these reduced features are for the iPhone users, or plain people who do not how tech works. Even the switch to nano SIM is to accommodate iPhone users to simple have no trouble to switch.

I'm out of the house like 14 to 15 hours at times. What's up with me is that I also use it as my main source of entertainment, communications, information downloading content on LTE, always connected to my Bluetooth earpiece and I can consume up to more than 150GB monthly.

Just because you don't do it, doesn't mean we have to follow how you use your limited usage habit

It's about options, and user control. Even if you don't swap batteries often, you got an option to just change it once it starts acting up. Even the option of third party extended batteries like Zerolemon for long usage for traveling. And that screen is mightily great fit watching the tons of media stored in the micro SD card.

                  But, enjoy!

So you need to use your phone as a remote control? So you need to use your phone over 16 hours a day without a charge? So you need almost 200GB of memory on your phone, for?

Wth are you doing with your phone that you need ALL that? You do know there are "other" mobile devices too, right?

Can't see why anyone needs multiple batteries. I can plugin on a bus, a cab, in my car, at the hotel, at home, at a friends, at the coffee shop, etc. But why do I need to? Heavy usage and I get over 13 hours on my phone alone. What is up with you people?

I'd planned to upgrade my Note 4 to Note 5, and I had ordered Note 5 Black Saphire 64GB (or 128GB if available) to Samsung Mobile Indonesia Region Yogjakarta. Yet, surprisingly, Samsung let loyal User down... again... since the version sold in Indonesia is 32GB only for unmatched LTE issue reason. 32GB without micro-SD is a real bad joke and a downgrade from Note 4 that has 32GB with micro-SD. What a dissapointing marketing. I'd never missed Note series since the first time was made, yet now, it may the first time to skip :-/

TheNeighbor, 30 Aug 2015Sorry, I could care less of any of your S6 or Edge fancies.... moreWell the chickens have come home to roost! I fondly remember our exchanges of opinion when I rang the alarm bells when Samsung excised the FM radio from Note III. My viewpoint was that the omission weakened the device's ability to communicate for after all these smartphones are essentially communicating devices. I still have the same POV. Now they have crossed a bridge too far by omitting the mem card, the removable battery, the IR port. Obviously we are witnessing the rise and fall of a great product. Arrogant executives making awful decisions on a top-end device; answering questions that were never asked!
It is clear that Samsung have succumbed to I-Phone mania. The Note V is really an I-Phone V!! We can only lament the demise of a great series.
