"The only reason why it doesn't have a ir blaster is because there is really no need. Now that tvs are becoming smarter"

My phone has an IR blaster, but I only used it once, to show friends and family.

I try to to use it again, when I could not find a remote in a friends house, even though it took forever to set it up.

I still prefer to use the actual remote, because I can change the channel and control volume, because it has physical button. I can do it by 'feel' without looking at it. With a smartphone, you have to look at the screen, to find out where you button is.....

Sim Free, unlocked International version available in USA 780$, HatsOff to iPhone selling @1500$ in short supply. N8 was 1045$ starting!

[deleted post]Then stick with it. No one's forcing you to bare your financial insecurities and intellectualization to justify the consequences of such insecurities online.

Lol phones weren't made to remotely control your other devices. That's just not what a phone is for. If as you said there are cheaper phones with ir blasters, then by all means, go buy those cheaper phones precisely for your remote controlling needs and then be done with it.

All I can say now is the Note8 is a very excellent drawing tablet, especially with the recent update of Autodesk Sketchbook Pro that lets me create resolutions of 10,000 x 10,000 pixels. I don't have to carry a big tablet.

Tilt input has been added too.

After over a month of using the Note8, i realize that fingerprint placement was designed for holding your phone more stably.

You take it from the pocket, forefinger goes to the scanner naturally. Quickly opens. I open my Note8 80% with this method, even with SmartLock enabled (keeps the unit unlocked when connected to a trusted Bluetooth device and pressing the home button to open).

Most phones r good on their own but they dont justify their askinG price. if note8 for $160 then its almost perfect.

True about the remote, but I don't want to carry an extra universal remote around with me everywhere I go.

The Galaxy Note 8 is a very nice and quality device.
This mobile phone in the Gulf states has many differences with its version in European countries.
For example, in the main box of this mobile phone in Europe there is a hands-free device, but in countries like Iran, Iraq and Turkey there is no hands-free mobile phone box.
I suggest you make a special edition of Europe.
