I got the Nougat update on my A3 phone yesterday. The difference in sofware is quite a lot. My phone is now running newest version and very big change

Yes, the Note8 is great for creating some casual art. I've been trying out the ArtRage app, and during my breaks, I've finally finished a piece. Millie Bobby Brown:

Suffice to say, the 6 GB of RAM and Exynos processor holds up to providing some smoothness in my colour mixing or blending. No stutters. I tried with my older Galaxy Notes, and there's a slight delay while doing the same task with ArtRage.
The S Pen is the selling point for having a Galaxy Note. 64 GB of UFS with the option for memory expansion is great to have for all my media needs. I turned the display settings to basic for better color accuracy.

The metrics of GSM Arena is using 1 hour daily of cellphone call, I hour of of video, and 1 hour of browsing... And they measure how many hours till the entire phone endures the standby time. We do not exactly do the same things as the endurance testing results.
So I devised my personal way of gauging how I use mine. Without gaming and just a mixed use of music, video, bluetooth connected and via wifi or data, I can say I can get about 12 hours stretch with about 6 hours of total Screen on Time. See my chart:

I actually charge it when it hit somewhere at 60%, and the 40% can give me about 2.5 hours of Screen On Time.
Since we are all stuck with a sealed battery, I got a magnetically attached power pack to keep up with my power needs.

Here's what doesn't make sense to me. According to GSM, the Note 8 has over 20hrs more battery endurance than the iPhone 8. I've owned both of these phones and with moderate use the iPhone 8 easily lasts 1½ days (as it should really, smaller screen, better processor etc.), whereas I had to charge the Note 8 (Exynos model) every day. Samsung nerfed the battery because of last year's debacle with the note Note 7. So what gives?

hows the battery life of this giant. as people posting negative reviews. I m confused to buy or no just for the reason BATTERY.

Just got my Note8 and it is a lovely phone after owning a Note5 that is pretty good too. I won't focus on the positives because that has been covered other than to say it is a lot more attractive and polished than the iPhone X that looks awful with that notch, even if it is technically impressive.
1. The finger print sensor is NOT in a naturally comfortable location. I have to stretch and reach to use it. Annoying, because my banking apps use it, not the facial recognition. LG have always got it right with the rear power/finger print login button position - center, rear. Same with Sony who put it on the side power button.
2. As far as I can tell, unlike finger print ID, you cannot configure more than one face profile, so I cannot add myself with reading glasses on, so my Note8 will not recognize me with them on. Annoying, because I tend to put them on when using the phone!
Yet to try camera out properly, but based on my Note 4 and 5 and S6 and S7, I assume it's even better, and those were all pretty good!
Hope the Note9 uses same face recog tech as iPhone X (it works very well) and/or an under screen finger print reader, something both Apple and Samsung have been trying to perfect but failed so far hence not available in any phone to date.
