Meed, 17 Nov 2020Note 8 or 9+Simple bro.. Note 9 itself is getting out dated, what do you want to compare with Note 8.... Go for Note 10 or better 20

AnonD-919675, 19 Nov 2020Depends on the price. I wouldn't pay more than $500 fo... more$500 is too much.. Recently I wanted to exchange my Note 8 in Amazon and the resale value was less than $85, while my wife's Vivo V9 Pro had little ($10) more value.. Considering my love for Note 8 and with such low resale value, I just could not go for exchange!

whale , 17 Nov 2020wanna ask if I can still go for Samsung Galaxy Note 8? Considering its 3 years old, pretty straight forward - You can buy with no new updates or anything new to expect while there is so much happenings even on a budget mobiles these days..

The phone is 3 years old and is stuck on Android 9 so no more One UI updates but if you don't care about that then the phone is great though i'm not sure about the battery, Samsung has never impressed me with their batteries, even the battery on the S20 which is 8 months old seems average

Bright, 10 Nov 2020It's a good smartphone,it's a pity it doesn'... moreYes, and only now Samsung is giving 3 major OS updates for flagships.

For me it was one the best smartphone I've used in years, it had a stunning camera, fast performance and drop dead gorgeous design but i had to sell it off due to battery issues. Still I love and miss my Note 8.

                                    DBM, 07 Nov 2020No problem It's a good smartphone,it's a pity it doesn't allow android 10 though.

Is it true that the last security update will be in november 2021?

I bought my Note 8 back in January 2019 as a 400 amazon returb. It was in great condition and though I recently upgraded to the Note 9, it's still one of my favorite phones of all time and my first android phone having previously used an iPhone 6. Even in 2020 it's still a beast. The display is still top of the line and all the premium features stand up well to this year's phones imo.
The SPen isn't something I use every day but when I do use it, I'm super thankful its there. The SD 835 is showing its age a bit but snags in the ui are few and far between. Unless it's being directly compared to a newer, faster phone, it feels perfectly capable even when multitasking or running something like CoD or LoR.
I'm not a big camera guru and I think the note 8 takes great photos. Again, more than sufficient if you aren't making comparisons to newer models.
The battery life is actually still pretty good. It's so easy to pop off a quick charge throughout the day with battery packs and wireless charging, fast charging in the car etc, that a subpar battery really isn't ever an issue. Admittedly though with a moderate amount of use it can struggle to get through a 12 hours workday without getting a drink from the wall or a battery pack.
If you can find a good deal on one, it's a solid purchase, although even for a refurb, there are better options. It's a real shame that Samsung refuses to strongly support their devices, even their flagships, more than two years. They are starting to change this but not fast or far enough. Hopefully more pressure from their consumer base will push them to commit the resources to more long-term support and give up on the cheap ploy of pushing sales by early withdrawal of software updates from on older models.
