Note 5 user here, want to upgrade after almost 5,5 years of fairly intensive use of the Note 5. Is the Note8 a good one? I have some important needs, LED light and heart rate sensor. But sadly those are not to be found in the newest Note sries Note10 or Note20 or even Note10 Lite. So can I better go for Note8 or Note9? I prefer the looks of Note8 especially the blue colour.

I got Note10+ few weeks ago after using Note8 and here's my honest feedback

The battery performance is very bad even it's 4300mAh, note8 battery is much better
    Bixby home is gone
    No notification LED
    Headphone jack is gone

Honestly thinking to return back to my note8 and selling note10+

It's still getting new Android versions while the Note8 will stay on Android 9, not that it's a bad thing because it works fine but I think for many people it's an important thing. But if you really want the s-pen and all the functionalities it brings with it, you can't deny the Note8 of course. Also I find the Note8 to be a lot prettier than the A71 and the build quality is superb. There are pros and cons for both, but if you don't need the stylus and want longer software support you might have to choose the A71.

I found a store selling New Note8's however its exactly the same price as samsungs A71. Which one should i get? I really want a good selfie camera and a phone that doesnt lag over time. I also want this to last a reallllllly long time because im buying it with my own money( my parents hate the idea of me buying a new phone)

The camera and especially display are absolutely amazing, I can say the best except the newest flagships. Be careful when buying second hand and check it into a service. The battery is his down part, but all the rest are great! The midrange phones are just little babies compare with this gorgeous device!

Starting from Note 10 will miss a lot of features

Notification LED, 3,5mm jack, heart rate sensor, SD slot, larger screen than the S series, most RAM and ROM. I am very reluctant to upgrade to a newer Note with a lot of features missing.

If you can live without it go for it else try the new mid range devices from Samsung.

Before upgrading to a newer note you will miss:

                      Headphone jack
                      Notification LED
Bixby home "Replaced by Samsung Daily" which is useless
Yahoo edge pannels are missing "Finance & Sports"

I figured that after i got Note 10+

Hi! I currently have the SamsungJ7 (2016) model and I'm looking in to buy Samsung Note 8 model (used but not abused, secondhand). Now before you say anything about my current phone, my family believes that having a new phone is unnecessary unless it's broken or repair would equate to a new phone. As much as I love this phone (so many memories), I think it's time for me to get a new one (with my own money because my family doesn't support it). I would very much like to hear what you guys think about my decision :c would it be smart to go for a secondhand Samsung Note 8 model or opt to go for a low budget to midrange phone now? (I'm really in it for the cameras)

Thank you for reading and I hope to hear a few suggestions!

Bought the phone in November 2017 and i think next year will be the perfect time to switch to Apple
Buying a $1000 phone only for it to stop getting updates after 2 years is an absolute ripoff and i wish i knew that before i bought the Note 8, i would have gone for the iPhone X instead
The iPhone 6s is from 2015 and is STILL getting updates, while the Samsung S6 from the same year is a fossil

It's a very good phone even now in 2020 and soon 2021 it still has more features than my friend's iPhone 12 pro. So he sold his iPhone and he bought a refurbished Note 9.

Mickey darling, 02 Dec 2020Guys pls help me choose between a galaxy note 8,an iPhone 7... moreI have bought an iPhone 7 plus after my Note 8 LCD got purple lines. Now using both phones side by side. Only issue in latest software update of iOS is that sometimes the keyboard lags which I think hopefully will be addressed in future update. Rest Note 8 is excellent on its own but no software updates now and iphone has much higher security than any Android. As per those who have insight in this hacking business that android security can be breached very easily whereas iPhone is very difficult to breach although not impossible

Recently got security patch October I have the phone from 2019 march but plan to keep it much longer it works good and I keep the phone longer so it also is better for environment. So if you keep a phone for 4 years for example is better than buy new phone iPhone every year without a charger because that is Apple reason to not include a charger so they use environment as reason. Beat keep the phone longer it better for the environment.

Mickey darling, 02 Dec 2020Guys pls help me choose between a galaxy note 8,an iPhone 7... moreWell, first thing is to delete the iphone 7 from your shortlist, it has so little features compared to the other 2 devices. Then if you are planning to use the stylus often, the Note8 is the choice. But if you don't need the stylus, you're better off with the LG V40. It runs android 10 and it's a year newer, and if you do purchase the V40, take the red colour it's a beautiful colour.
