I was going to stop reading after the part about 300-500 charge cycle, simply because I have a 3 year old Xperia Z2 with sealed battery way over the 500-th charge and working fine (knock on wood).

Samsung I dont know what you guys did but even though the screen is amazing you played yourself with the Fingerprint scanner again UGLY,WASTED SPACE,NOT ERGONOMICALLY FRIENDLY!!!!

Nokia 8 with less feature and same chipset cost $700. Even Sony Xperia X with SD650 cost around $549. Not to mentioned Oppo R11 with SD660 cost higher than $400. If you looking for high specs and low price you should go with the cheapest SD835 device right now which is Xiaomi Mi6 at $362. Stop asking for the impossible. Only chinese brand can offer such low price.

The only thing NOT NICE about this phone is the price tag. I can buy the best laptop for this price and it is ridiculous to be E1000. The only other thing is the non-removable battery; I want to control the battery action.

For over $1000 it better be packed with a more powerful processor than any phones on the market. I know the SD 835 is still top notch but its been kinda dated already. There are a lot of phones with the same specs for 2/3 or even half the price. Those extra features aren't worth that much

This is coming from a Note7 user - most of Note8's feature were on the Note7; artificial bokeh will wear out as this is already with the Google camera; 2x telephoto is not something as exciting and as useful; 64Gb capacity with no mention of a 128Gb being regularly sold; 3300 mAh battery capacity will NOT have a better longevity than an S8+'s 3600 mAh; S Pen pressure sensitivity input is the same 4096 level; and the gimmicks of animated glowing doodling isn't so magical. This is just a Note7 version 2.
I'm interested in getting a Note with a great camera - yes, only the regular camera (not with a zoom), and with an S Pen. Those are the two things I'm looking for other than an AMOLED screen. Note8 can answer those two things, that I can admit. It is a tool, a very expensive one to have.

I think pricing a phone $1000 is crazy. In Norway its $1270 in every retailer. Come on, a phone is obsolete in a year, lets be real. Greedy to a point thats just ridiculous. So in a few years the price of a flagship will be $2000? A backlash is awaiting for sure.

Also, given the way of the seven, they're probably playing it VERY safe this time. Rather sell a few percent less than have ONE fire.
