AnonD-694802, 25 Aug 2017Note 7 sold millions despite high price. Note 8 will still ... moreNice one! I also hear the apple pencil will work with the iPhone Pro.
Note 8 is a good tool and would work well coupled with the Tab S3 and a good Gear (S3 Frontier)

Note 7 sold millions despite high price. Note 8 will still sell millions despite high price because its the best all round phone out there. Even the iPhone Pro won't be as good because Apple is conservative and doesn't include the pen. The iPhone Pro will be >$1100 and all you guys will be moaning about that price but again it will still sell millions because it will also be a great phone, just without the pen... =D

Asking price nearly 1000$ is wide-opening and hawk-dropping
BUT note8 is same and boring lacking innovative features
Samsung do bigger price....really .not do bigger things

Anonymous, 25 Aug 2017The only thing NOT NICE about this phone is the price tag. ... moreMy personal experience: lately it's been easier doing daily and some work stuff on phones and and tablets than on laptops, so it's looking like a future complete replacement.
And about this battery thing; Note 5 has a "Non removable" battery yet the battery is everywhere with tons of videos on how to replace it - a simple task at any repair centre.
What it is is sealed casing - which with the right (cheap and available) tools you can open and replace the battery or screen!
Remember laptops used to come with "removable" batteries but now most casings are also sealed BUT just like sealed phones, you can buy the OEM replacement battery and change. That doesn't mean you throw your XPS360 laptop away just because the battery life has gone down.
This is just the same with the phones.
For me , back when phones had "removable" batteries, it was worse because there were 80% chances of buying a fake because those batteries were simple accessories. Now with sealed cases, those batteries are more of phone parts than accessories and there are higher chances you would source the OEM battery as repair part for your phone. Again you change the battery and keep your phone.
It's an advancement in the industry - in my opinion, a better one. If my battery starts going low, I get the new battery OEM and have a repair center replace it for me, like I would do a broken screen and move on with my phone. Ive bought enough Chinese fake of those "removable" easy to get "spare" batteries.
Besides, there are phone cases that act as extra capacity batteries.

venom0706, 25 Aug 2017I think you are looking wayyy too much into this.
I was ... moreA cycle means one full charge. It is an accumulative, and if you don't believe my words here, read. Research has always say 300-500 cycles. And true enough, my batteries are ineffective (some 50-60% capacity than original) where they suddenly just drop charges on the 18th month.
And you still got the same amount of usage time with your device? Heck, My Galaxy Note 8.0 (tablet of 2013)'s battery was 7 hours of screen on time, and two years later, it was down to 3 hours SOT.
Stop fooling yourselves and say that it will last you the same amount of usage time for over two years. Read.

All I wanted was a minimum of 3600mAh (I upgrade my phone once a year). I understand smaller capacity will help the charging cycles on the long run. But no way will I pay that money for a battery that lasts less than my s8 plus..I'll wait for the s9 or LG g7...

AnonD-519850, 25 Aug 2017The thing is, everybody is complaining but some of you will... moreSamsung has been trying to match absurd iPhone pricing portfolio. Obviously they can easily bring the price down by $300 less if they weren't going to give all the freebies.

The thing is, everybody is complaining but some of you will still buy it at that price tag.
For 799e i got myself a pretty Hp Omen Gaming Laptop.
I got a Xiaomi Mi6 for 380e which has the snapdragon 835 dual camera setup.
total price 1179e +20e fees = 1200e
Samsung Note 8 costs 1199e here in Portugal.
There are some people that still say i should have gotten the samsung Note8. What a bunch of idiots. What's the use of having a snapdragon inside a 1200e phone if there aren't games that demand that much horsepower anyway. Clearly a overkill.
That dual camera trend seriously only improves the imagine quality marginely.
A phone is merely good for webrowsing, listening to music, taking a pict here and there, calls and texting. You need a 1200e phone to do that?
Keep in mind if you buy this phone it just keeps getting pricier and pricier every year. In 3 years expect phones to carry a price tag of 1400-1500e, That's crazy.

DNeighbor, 23 Aug 2017Haha, wireless charging needs more energy, slower than regu... moreI think you are looking wayyy too much into this.
I was going to stop reading after the part about 300-500 charge cycle, simply because I have a 3 year old Xperia Z2 with sealed battery way over the 500-th charge and working fine (knock on wood).
However, out of respect, I read all of your post.

Anonymous, 25 Aug 2017Glorified tablet. No excuse for the insane amount of money ... more$400 for a SD835 flagship device is overkill. Especially from a major brand. Nokia 8 with less feature and same chipset cost $700. Even Sony Xperia X with SD650 cost around $549. Not to mentioned Oppo R11 with SD660 cost higher than $400. If you looking for high specs and low price you should go with the cheapest SD835 device right now which is Xiaomi Mi6 at $362. Stop asking for the impossible. Only chinese brand can offer such low price.
