The only times my smartphones heat up are when I'm accessing large volumes of LTE data.
Wireless charging is only effective when the device is turned off. Rapid charging also increases the temperature to above 40 degree Celcius. I know this because I've experimented with the S7 Edge and Note7.
Regular charging is actually third longer, but the temperature stays below 35 degree Celcius. Heat is the number one enemy of batteries.

I'm certain it's a very smart move by Samsung to have a 3300mAh or a similar capacity battery in this set to have a practical experience of usage by owners.
There are however so many other handsets with 4000mAh plus batteries with below average SOT.
There's a phone for everyone out there and I'm sure Samsung has its target market for the Note 8.
It's expensive, its got a 64/128gb internal memory, its got a non-removable battery, it's got a "low" capacity battery and it's got fast wireless charging and so it's perfect for those who can afford it and want it that way.

Where did you get that? You are assuming that you somehow know what you're talking about without research or actual use.
I use a 10,000 extended battery, and charges at 1200-1800 mA. It does not go above 35 degree Celsius. Here is this afternoon's charging after 2.5 hours with that same 10000 mAh: http://flic.kr/p/WLgRbc
I can show your over a year's worth of battery screenshot charts that show the same exact thermodynamics when I charge my smartphone.
Show proof alongside your claims, if you want to make a VALID point.

This is a big duh with your so-called "progressive technology". It more regressive, since it means it will accelerate the battery degradation. It's a shorter battery life.
While I can say a bigger battery at 4000 to 6000 mAh with a low-power OLED screen will definitely give you more than 8 hours SOT for a more-use scenario. I really can't stand having to keep the battery charged up to last till I get back home.
It is NOT the same as charging faster - that's still 1 hour plus of tending to your gadget and to carry a charging accessory like a powerbank or charger. I refuse to see this as the future of how we have so much features, yet the battery that comes with these devices aren't capable of giving even a whole day's use. At least there are companies like Zerolemon that had provided extended batteries that DIRECTLY powered (and none of that external power BS) the device.

With the level of competition and cost of the phone, I'm certain most smartphone manufacturers, especially Samsung (in their very prime flagship) would be integrating a better inductive charging system in their devices.
Probably a fast charging and high amperage inductive charging system.
We have to wait for the "unpacking"

Ex... moreHaha, wireless charging needs more energy, slower than regular charging, and kills the battery faster with more heat, thereby shorter power in the long term. Of course you don't understand how that is, but trust me, battery efficiency capacities will never last. Past 1 month, it'll be down to just 90% of its original. No, that percentage battery indicator will not say that your battery. Capacity is already some 2800 mAh instead of the original 3300 mAh. It will always degrade. Understand this fact.
Smaller battery means the more times you would spend plugging in. The more you charge, the closer you are spending out the 300-500 cycle-life of the battery. I just got tired in plugging in, carry a powerbank or changing 3000+ mAh batteries, and just got a 10,000 mAh extended battery.
I do not need to charge in the middle of the day; no need worry about battery life at all; longer battery capacity effectiveness in the long term; no need to carry powerbanks or charger, and especially no need to buy extra accessories like a "wireless charger" to be carried around, or worse, planting multiple ones so you can be cool with charging. This was the plan to get people like you to spend more money to destroy that sealed battery faster.
I guess you don't know anything what UFS versus microSD speeds, nor the fact that Secure Folder only works on an internal storage. Right, because you change devices every two years? My Note 3 has been in service for almost 4 years now. 32GB 4 years ago was like "large space". I have to reset once every 3 to 4 months to regain memory space. I've already experienced 64GB with the Note7, and I do have 128GB card. I'm looking for something that's going to last me 3 years, and for a better camera. Beyond that, I know the battery will crap out in 18 months, and I am going to be putting on a Zerolemon 8500 mAh external battery case once it will be on sale.
A 256GB micro SD is currently some $200. Chances of it failing is way more than an internal UFS with better speed. No stutters with pictures reviews. Heck, I'd like the 256GB Note8 if they sold it in my region for a less restrictive experience with the device - I can go 4k recording every time with no worries and much more secured on the internal. So 128GB is practically normal now. 64GB will like meh. I'd also like to think that my work files will be more secured with the internal memory than having to encrypt the microSD card.
I use my smartphone more than any of my tablets, or my gaming laptop. I sketch/draw to figure out things with my Note. I jot notes with my Note. I document my work with my Note. I communicate with Note. I think with OneNote on my Note. It's small, easy to carry in a pocket, for work, for play, for information, for entertainment, for documentation and for communication. And no, my work does not make me stay in an office so that I have a wireless charger stationed.

Except saving you time from taking the cable out from the drawer every time, it also prevents from the usb port tearing down every time you charge the phone.
Secondly, why wait for a 128 gb if a 64 gb version will suit you just fine, considering you can expand it to 256 gb any time you want? These phones are not meant to replace laptops and their HDD's, they are portable devices for storing music, videos and apps. Besides, time will come to replace your device anyway, why set for such a large storage if you will replace it in a couple of years?

In this life you won't please everyone all the comments that am reading is that some of you want this the other wants that samsung and many other smart phones company will never be able to please all of u no matter what they do they will always be someone who will not be happy and some that will be happy guys just deal with it ok i have a s8+ and am satisfied no complaints if you don't like it just go for the note fan edition simple as that no one has a gun to your heads if you don't wanna buy it just choose another mobile phone go ahead Samsung keep up the good work

yes , 1000 + doll for a phone ,pc and game console is not that expensive .
(if this works ,i am guessing the next gen of phones will be the true desktop killer)

Seriously, after seeing how increasingly difficult and buggy its becoming to even do simple tasks daily with Windows 10 and the "high end" PCs, I wouldn't blame anyone for shelling out over $1000 on a mobile phone or tablet. Its a necessity really!
You find out most times its easier doing things on a phone or tablet than on a $1000 laptop. Its weird!

Anonymous, 19 Aug 2017again no IR blaster.. why did they remove itIn my experience, since Samsung never took it beyond a half-hearted gimmick, it ended up being a paid for annoyance, which isn't a good thing to keep including in your products.
Samsung never built a decent IR app, and those out there tends to either be homemade or more focused on extracting money than actually working. Samsung never built in a receiver to record IR codes, and the databases out there tends to incomplete, incorrect and inconvenient.
I kind of got the TV sorted, but never the settop box, so I couldn't even change the channel. I was able to control one RGB light, but another one locked up, beyond repair. While I like my Note3, that IR dot is mostly a reminder of a marketing ploy I fell for. I'd like to see them do it properly in some future phone, but as of now, good riddance.
