DNeighbor, 01 Aug 2017And you just compared the iPhone 7 with the worst-hardware ... moreStill I insist that the Apple Ecosystem is way more sophisticated, secure and fluid than the Android.
My part of the world, the computing environment is predominantly Windows and Android, hence the choice.
Apple is way more than its hardware - which is receiving a "quickening" due to hardware preferences and showcasing from Android and Windows OEMs.
Its all relative.
Imagine IF a Note 8 comes with an IOS version/model. So Apple has its pace and for me, their ecosystem is way more secure, fluid and practical.

Plus more a... moreAnd you just compared the iPhone 7 with the worst-hardware Galaxy Note (no memory expansion, trying to be iPhone) to have been ever produced... Nothing has rivaled the Isocell cameras of the S7 and S8 with the fastest focusing and sharpest pictures.
You said it, your business operating needs Android can cover. Apple has no intention of cross platform wireless file transfers. iPads can be paired with a BT keyboard but not with a mouse, not even its own Magic Mouse? Yes, despite that, I'm getting it due its drawing performance.
Sorry, MacBook Pro can't run Revit, Rhino - which I need for my design work. I can't appreciate half-baked overpriced less-features eye-candy metal-cladded laptops. Apple laptops are only for the masses who aren't doing 3D production. I can't even connect it to an external Graphics card accelerator. Not even touch screen function is there.

This generally makes Android feel like a struggle and a cloned environment. Samsung is trying hard to channel out an environment in the Android community, offering new and improved email and security features.
Like I said, it all comes down to what ecosystem works for you on a daily basis and for your business uses.

Like I said, my businesses and uses are more on the Android ecosystem which makes the Tab S3 and the Note 8 my ideal combo.
By the way, the iPhone 7 Plus Camera is way better than on my Note 5.

AnonD-197784, 31 Jul 2017Good points - only mostly hardware related. Like I pointed ... moreAll but the exception of the small percentage of battery manufacturing mistake, the Note7's capabilities and features are far from what the current iPhone is offering... Zoom lens useless in my book. Still has NO split screen. There is nothing that is compelling me to get an iPhone except the choice of a 256GB of internal space - which cost so much more. I'm not holding my breath for expensive under-features devices.
I buy a Galaxy Note mainly because its S Pen - an active digitizer pressure-sensitive pen - tremendously useful for jotting notes and sketching ideas. Very convenient than whipping out my bigger Galaxy Note 8.0. Yeah, Apple has the Pencil, and I'm planning to get the iPad Pro 12.9 2017 to update my bigger screen sketching needs, but Apple never wants to gut out its own Pro line-up by providing Pencil function on the iPhone. Just like they don't allow phone call functions on its iPad even if it can connect to phone networks. Never.
So, what are you looking forward to the iOS 11 update that will blow away the Note8?

Note 8 will be like any other Android flagship - A flash in the pan in a few months.
Apple has its pace - but mostly in its environment than hardware. But like you said, the Samsung S and Note hype is making them double up on the hardware now.
The Note 8 will be inferior to the iPhone 8 when its launched. Watch

AnonD-197784, 30 Jul 2017The Note 8 will be more accessible and affordable BUT will ... moreOh wow. During iPhone 4 days, iPhone couldn't do more than 100 things that an Android smartphone can.
No memory expansion, no file explorer, and no dual SIM shots are the longest running features that aren't in the iPhone, yet wouldn't be useful if it had them till today. Only now Apple is considering OLED screen - since years of Galaxy S and Microsoft Lumia.
A lot of those more than 100 things iPhones couldn't do are being copied over from Android, even the sizes of the screens. Pretty soon, split screen functions and a mini Apple Pencil will be on the iPhone Plus.
Hey, competition makes things better. I love Apple for just catching up so Android manufacturers are the ones innovating the industry even more, and now they're using OLED screens. I can imagine how battery life will be so great on the new iPhone. I might consider getting one when it finally has a pen.

Mobileman, 31 Jul 2017Cant see the display only being 5'7 inches when the s8+ is ... moreIt will be a failure if it features anything less than 6.3" screen. Even at that screen size its still an ergonomic disaster for 60% of the current note users

Cant see the display only being 5'7 inches when the s8+ is 6'2, with the new infinity display they hardly need any body around the screen so expect probably more than a 6'2 screen

6.3" screen with Pure Android 8.0 Oatmeal Cookie. Lol... It also needs better ram management, optimizations, better performance, cooling & a higher mAh battery. Give us increase performance, better optimizations, better ram management and greater battery life.

Anonymous, 28 Jul 2017Looking forward to this. Competing directly with iPhone 8 A... moreThe Note 8 will be more accessible and affordable BUT will NEVER be able to compete with Apple iPhone 8. Apple makes their own software BUT the Note runs Android. The Android limitations are still there.
At the end of the day, the iPhone 8 will be an improvement in the Apple ecosystem and the Note 8 will be another android handset with features that fade into the background in a couple of months.
Thats why they all keep chasing perfection.
Personally I will be buying a Note because my business and uses are not based on the Apple Ecosystem. Most US users are better off with the Apple ecosyetem.
