Suck-it-up, 02 Feb 2016Exactly!! No probs :)) Especially ppl like me take a hell ... morewell dont give up hope for 5.1.1. i have note edge which i use now and again. mostly i use my note 3. but sam live told me 4 times my note edge will not be updated to 5.1.1 because it was bought outside uk. so i go into settings and check for software updates on note edge now and again as it was on 5.0.1. so i checked OTA today and got an update of 510.99mb. so i downloaded it and its 5.1.1 now. no change. no extra apps. but i wanted note 3 updated to 5.1.1. but i checked and it says lastest updates installed. so im hoping note 3 will get 5.1.1 update.

Suck-it-up, 02 Feb 2016Exactly!! No probs :)) Especially ppl like me take a hell ... morethanks for telling me:) because i didnt know that. if i see something on internet i like i take screenshots of it. but like you said you cant use s pen to take a screenshot since 5.0 update. so i thought i could only take them by swiping across. so i use the power and home button now which is easier i have to admit. its great:)

Your data including all files not at all safe in Kitkat. Better consider for lollipop upgrade orelse its your wish if you dont consider you device privacy.
          Good luck

Especially ppl like me take a hell lot of screenshots since I practically study off the internet and save the shots I need but that became another major hassle since the 5.0 update.
Now Im just using an addon in UCbrowser to do the same.
I asked Samsung about the update on FB,they said there arent any plans as of now, which is disheartening.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION : asalam o alikum brothers and sister I am going to reveal an important information, If any one willing to purchase NOTE 3 in the current year of 2016 then please do not purchase any set which is within golden border casing, seller said its came from dubai or with model number N9005 because its the 1:1 clone copy of the genuine NOTE 3 phone, very low quality of display screen is used which can be cracked easily, most of the sensor are not working including the NFC, gesture, stylus pen won't show hovering in most cases and made in china written on battery, no cleverness is required just to think why seller is selling the phone in such new condition, even with sticker or rapper on the phone, those phone are not refurbished but clones seems 100% genuine, now the clone equipped with MTK rom so the cheaters installing custom rom.... so if you purchase the samsung sets which shows logo pf foreign mobile providers like verizon, t-mobile, sprint, AT&T then you will be in safe hand because those company provide genuine phone to their customers later imported to asian countries and sold as refurbished sets.

No bugs, no lag, no battery drain, and all my favorite apps are supported (spotify, gmail, youtube, weather, news, games, and etc). I played around with Lollipop on my brother's Note 4, and I read articles about Marshmallow, but I still don't see what I'm missing out on. Enjoy what you have because the Note 3 is still amazing. If your Note 3 has serious problems, that's another story. Might be time for you to upgrade to a newer devices that receives updates.

AnonD-363676, 31 Jan 2016I too need to know....That depends on what is most important for you to have in a phone. I've had the Note 3 for 4 months now, and it's still an outstanding phone. The s-pen and size sets it apart from other android phones. I went with the Note 3 instead of the Note 4 because 1) it's cheaper, and 2) I knew for certain that my Tracfone service would work. With normal usage, the Note 3 performs just as well as current flagship phones. The screen quality is not the sharpest in the market, but it's still sharp enough for most people. However, if you want your phone to be supported longer (i.e. security updates, OS upgrades), then it would make sense to buy a newer phone (Note 4, Note 5, Edge, and etc).

Anonymous, 01 Feb 2016If a 2yr old flagship gets marshmellow then I will be surpr... more"there's not much life left in note 3"?

Well, I ported the Note.5's custom ROM, and started using double-capacity batteries. I'm getting 17 hours+ on one charge with 11 hours screen on usage while still being able to download 6 GB of torrents over LTE.

The latest Note.5 can't do this on one charge, and no memory expansion. My Note 3 is a whole lot useful and longer to use now. No need to even change batteries for the day.
