The Galaxy Note 4 was surprisingly the first Samsung device to get the security patches for the month of April, even before the month had come to an end. The security fixes came in a rather large update following Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and Samsung India is now pushing out an even bigger update to the Note 4. It is sized at 523.36 MB and features build number N910GDTU1DPE1, but the changelog is generic with no concrete details on what is new or what has changed.

It’s not often we see such major OTA updates hit devices after they get upgraded to a newer version of Android, especially not in such quick succession, and it’s possible Samsung is fixing and/or improving Marshmallow on its last Note smartphone with a microSD slot and removable battery. In any case, we shouldn’t really be complaining given how Samsung can often go the opposite route and not bring any updates to many of its smartphones and tablets.

You should be seeing the new update on your Galaxy Note 4′s status bar at some point this week; alternatively, you can try to update right away by heading into the Settings » About device menu. Do leave a comment below if you notice anything new or different after installing the update!

      I got mine MM at Settings + About device + Download Update Manually.

          In 2016 is it worth buying??? are there any issues with this phablet? after about 1 to 2 years of usage will this lag too much??? IS ANYONE CONFIDENT ENOUGH TO RECOMMEND ME THIS DEVICE IN 2016???? please help me out... thank you in advance.... and also include something about the durability of the device in day to day usage?????

            Power Down Your Galaxy Note 4(Take the Battery Out if You Have To)
            Press and Hold the Power Button, Home Button and the Volume Up Button at the Same Time
            When the Galaxy Note 4 Vibrates, Let Go of the Power and Home Buttons
            Continue Holding the Volume Up Button
            When You See the Android System Recovery Page Let Go of the Volume Up Button
            Press the Volume Down Button to Highlight the Wipe Cache Partition Option
            Press the Power Button to Select this Option
            Wait Up to 15 Minutes for Android to Wipe the Cache Partition
            When Complete, Make Sure the Reboot System Now Option is Highlighted
            Press the Power Button to Select this Option and Reboot into Android

            No, clearing system cache WILL NOT clear your data. It's just the system cache, and upon reboot, the phone will rebuild the cache from a clean system. Just make sure you choose CLEAR SYSTEM CACHE PARTITION.....not CLEAR USER DATA in the presented menu.....then you'll be fine.

                      - Press "Download" button

                      - Press "Restart & Install" button

                      - Rebooting will begin automatically

                      - You will see "Installing System Update" notice when installation starts

                      - Upgrading begins automatically

                      - Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will run on your device after upgrading is done

                      You can also manually check availability of the new software by going to – 'Settings' >> 'About phone' >> 'System updates' >> 'Check For Update'.
