It is worthwhile. You will find yourself getting so many things done with the note 3. I have an ipad but I hardly touch it because my note 3 is more convenient to use.

I have pre-ordered the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. This will replace my Samsung Tab3 10.1 tablet and my T-Mobile Samsung dumb phone which costs me $100.00 US per year, pre-paid.

Am I throwing my money away on the Note 4, which added to my wife's T-Mobile account will run me $360.00 for the year (in addition to the cost of the phone)? Or does it actually have enough practical features to be worthwhile?

32 Bit quad core processor clocked at 1.6GHz vs. iPhone 6's dual core 1.4GHz processor (64-Bit is stupid, most DESKTOP applications are still 32 bit, and the Snapdragon 808 and 810 are 64 bit, as is Android "L")
Skype/Google Hangouts video/voice calling to any device (Blackberry, Windows XP/Vista/7/8/10/Phone, OS X, Android, iOS) vs. FaceTime's iOS/OS X only video/voice calling.
Interactive Notifications, customizable Notification center with quick settings.
No finger print scanner (some Droids had facial recognition, though)
Google Wallet, accepted at any location Apple Pay is (plus the Note has UNLOCKED NFC so ot can be used with NFC chips and the like, unlike the iPhones locked NFC that can only be used with Apple Pay)
Android 4.1.1 with Project Butter, completely customizable/open source.
                High graphics games and apps
Glossy plastic, more durable but less aestheticly pleasing (enter HTC One)
                5.5" 720p (this IS 2012) screen
                8MP rear camera/1.9MP front camera
                Stylus
Industry standard microUSB port and USB OTG vs. Proprietary "lightning" port and no OTG.
                2GB of RAM
microSD card for expansion of up to 64GB.

Which one looks better on paper, the Note 2 or the iPhone 6+?

deesan, 06 Oct 2014MrAnkurJain, I agree with you with except either typo error... moreDeesan, I have no idea where you got this "most phones" idea from.

-IIRC, the Note 4 is the first smartphone to be released in America with LTE Cat 6.

-The only phones I can think of with higher-than-20MP cameras are a few Nokias and the flagship Xperias. Except for the S5. ;)

-The HTC One M8 is the only phone I can think of with Stereo speakers, and who the heck uses speakers on phones for anything other than voice assistants and phone calls? (The latter doesn't even use the same speakers) It's rude to use them in public (and more convenient to use earbuds/headphones, which sound better anyway) and when at home you just use Bluetooth/NFC speakers. Or headphones.

-The HTC One M8 is the only phone (except those cheaty Oppo phones with the rear camera that flips to the front and a few cheap Chinese anomalies) that has a front facing camera higher than 3MP. And TBH, do you really need to zoom in on your selfies that much?

-Only other phone with a QHD screen is the smaller LG G3.

-Only other phone with a PPI of over 500 is the smaller LG G3.

-I'll give you that, although Samsung does it better/right. It can run SIXTEEN apps at a time.

-On the S Pen, there is no better stylus, especially when you count its software integration.

-On the price, it's only ~$100 more than the average baseline flagship, but you get the fastest smartphone processor on Earth right now, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage (someting Apple used to charge you $100 more for, making their prices equal), a stylus, the second best screen used in a smartphone yet, a great camera with OIS and the best OS on earth, whether it's covered by TouchWiz or not.

Thus, the Note 4 will remain the pinnacle of tech (if you go by raw specs) for the next 12 months or so, or until the 808/810 launches.

Dual SIM? Pretty sure there will be one released (very few people actually use dual sim which it isn't on samsungs main releases)

4500 mAh battery? Have you thought about how massive and heavy this would make the device?

Sound system? Again this makes for a really long device. You rarely see someone playing a game, video or song with speakers. Headphone quality will always beat speakers.

If those are your only issues with the Note 4 then you are really scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Anonymous, 06 Oct 2014I think what lots of current & potential Note users lik... moreStill waiting for the Note 4 to hit my region's market. I've been disappointed with the small amount of new stuff added to the Note 4, hardware or software wise. This is not saying the Note 4 isn't the most badass smartphone for the next 12 months. If we take time to look around, nothing will come close to the many features it offers, especial the S Pen and multi-windows that trolls of this page don't need or understand. Only the Note 3 will come close.

Granted that the benchmarks already show that the Note 4 has a beastly processor (Exynos), and offers that real metal side frame. What more with a Snapdragon 805. The 16MP camera with OIS will help out a lot with taking quick shots.

I seem videos already of what to expect. I just feel Sanding did a very good job with the Note 3. I'm just envious with the new S Pen tricks, which I expect I can port to my Note 3 - I want to be able to select and collect articles from the net and PDFs by selecting cropping and organized with research material.

I'll have a real good look at the Note 4. I might change my mind about getting it. I wish Samsung had the Note Edge as the real Note 4.

Finally it comes down to basics

                              Durability = IP 68

Functionality = Dual SIM for all unlocked phones

                              Power = 4500 mAh

Experience = A gorgeous screen needs a gorgeous sound system
