Nice exterior but not much app support. It's a stodgy plebeian device for calling and texting. You have the effrontery to be telling us what is premium here?

[deleted post]brother we shouln't compare note with feature phones, Should we? whatever says who is the best, still undefeated Nokia. But the Innovation copying section win alwayas goes to Samsung.

AnonD-77443, 23 Mar 2013Some people are never happy. Comparing the battery life ... moreDespite the numerous expert reviews, Sebastian still claims the XZ has brilliant (TFT) screen without the angle view problem at all!

He can't even believe that the Note II is capable in doing complete original digital paintings with the S Pen and it's quite obvious I had "edited" a picture. Incredibly, even with my screen shots of my work process, he deemed them to be fake.

He'll actually tell you that the XZ' battery is from very good to excellent now against expert reviews of having only 5 hours of continuous usage and yet will not even show screen time usage as proof. The users of the XZ actually posted truthful 4 hours total screen time on over a 24 hour period. Dang, I can't imagine myself worrying about not having enough battery for torrent downloads and not enough to reach 8 hours of screen time on with a non-removable battery of only 2330mAh!

For the new Note II users, an advantage of a removable battery is the advantage of changing to fresh batteries unlike a fixed non-removable like the Xperia Z. I even hardly plug in my Note II since I just charge the spent battery with a separate charger at home. You don't have to carry a charger and wait to charge.

Sebastian is delusional and probably uses the XZ at a minimum. I have never seen anyone sacrifice all logical features for looks and a smaller 1080p TFT so that he "can read the text of web sites."

Comparing the battery life of the Note 2 & the xperia z the note 2 is 40% better for web browsing and double the life for video. (from gsmarenas test)

In relation to the screen, the xperia z was hammered in the review for its viewing angles, contrast and average colours... plus i would really struggle going back to a 5" screen after using the Note 2.

clientelle, 23 Mar 2013@anonymous haha...so your an avid Smart user? nevermi... moreThat guy (Sebastian) is now a former Note II user who just got the Xperia Z. He would endlessly goes on to rant about how terrible the Note II is, especially that he can't seem to be able to read text from the GN2, insisted power only lasts 6 hours for him (at full brightness!), and how S AMOLED apparently does not have 16M colors (he claims his Xperia Pro does have 16M colors).

He underestimates people who thinks otherwise. He's easy to spot though. He'd be usually STILL comparing the XZ with the GN2. He's now complaining how the GN2's screen easily scratched (& how superior Dragontrail is (yeah, with a factory protective cover)) over at the XZ forum - and I don't think he knows Gorilla Glass 2 is used on the back of the XZ. He's even complaining how not so responsive & accurate the GN2's touch screen is and explains this is why the GN2 has the S Pen on the first place.

He's still hung up about the GN2 and I surmised he's just creating a way of telling himself that spending almost $1000 for it would be tantamount to having the best device anywhere right now.

The wifi power saving mode is accessed by dialing *#0011# and is only needed if you have problems connecting to wifi.

Since the update i have used 34% in 22 hours with light to moderate use (6 hours on 3G).... still no freezing or rebooting :-)

You can't compare HTC One VS Note 2 because HTC One is very far and advanced in terms of technology towards note 2 even s4 with features from play store I can't stand HTC One.

I don't do battery saving mode anymore or lower down the processor speed. My unit still goes on for 16 to 18 hours with more than 6 hours of screen time on. I lose some 5% to 6% with wifi on and terrible 3G signal at night.

It has definatly fixed the wifi connection / wifi power saving issue. I can reboot and it connects to wifi without disabling the power saving mode.

Battery life is still awesome. It is using 1% or less while in sleep mode.

I haven't had any freezing or reboots in the past 15 hours which have been happening over the past few weeks so fingers crossed it has fixed that issue.

Smart stay now seems to be working properly.

In general the OS seems quicker and more stable. I haven't found any other extras.
