Perfect phone, fits into my pocket effortlessly. May have issues with single-handed use but god gave us 2 of them for a reason.

On 4.1.1 Note 2 was way great in terms of battery life.

You see I bought the GN7 in November last year. Out of the box came JB4.1.1 and its a nightmare. Battery drain and 'sudden death' are the issue that I encounter during my time with the GN7. For your info JB4.1.2 is a fix for the JB4.1.1. After that everything is OK and then it is 'stable' if you are on JB4.2.1. But the best reserve for the JB4.2.2. This latest upgrade works flawlessly. Mine is not rooted. My advice is stay away fromJB4.1.1 and wait for the JB4.2.1 onwards. Your patients will be rewarded. Cheers.

Four months owning the N7100 (non LTE). So far I've found it faultless. It was on the biggie side at first but now I don't notice it. Trying my father's S3 felt weird and small. I was skeptical about Samsung due to a bad experience with Galaxy Ace (sleep of death), until my carrier gave me the Note 2. So far Samsung win me back.

TheNeighbor, 23 Feb 2013What crap and bugs of 4.1.1 are you referring about? Other than the SDS bug there is NO other bug in 4.1.1. Battery life was WAY SUPERIOR on 4.1.1, Samsung literally killed it in 4.1.2. Just don't get misinformed by some nonsense comment. Head over to XDA and you'll see how many have complained about battery drainage issue on 4.1.2.
But that SDS bug on 4.1.1 is bad and your device can die at any time, so you'll have to update to 4.1.2 anyway.
To get good battery backup on 4.1.2 you will need to use a custom kernel.

AnonD-77443, 22 Feb 2013Personally i would stick with 4.1.1.
There are no major ... moreThere have been 3 updates for Note 2 AFTER the 4.1.2 update, the battery is much much better with 4.1.2 and the other updates, ESPECIALLY on standby. Everyone should update, 4.1.1 is crap and full of bugs, many of which has been removed in 4.1.2.
All 3 updates may not be available in all regions yet but should be available in most of the world soon for sim free phones. The last was the least useful one so its ok if you dont get all 3 at once, two will do.

Actually your are wrong on the screen crispness.
Sure the Note 2 has less pixels than the SGS3 but it has more sub pixels (i.e. RGB not pentile). Android authoritys review indicates that there is no noticeable difference, if anything the note 2 may be crisper in the macro photos.
As well as this the note 2 has whiter whites and is a lot brighter as well as bigger so is clearly a better display than the SGS3.
