i downloaded this PhilZ-cwm6-XXLSZ-OXA-4.87.6-signed.zip
went to recovery mode..installed the zip...
now my phone is rooted but kernel not changed...is the kernel suppose to change or is there another file to be installed for that? does this zip file here comes with a kernel too and is that the safe kernel u were talkin about? pls help...

AnonD-19710, 15 Mar 2013Thanku very much for the guidance. Ya I was looking for ult... moreFirst note down you current kernel details from settings menu-About Device-Kernel Version. Now download the Philz safe kernel pc odin version and go to download mode (Vol down + power) and connect your phone to PC and open PC Odin 1.85. Now click on PDA and browse kernel file which you download earlier. Be sure Re-Partition option must be NOT CHECKED and click start. After installation phone will restart automatically and go to again settings menu-About Device-Kernel Version. Now you will see kernel version has changed.
No... while formatting your personal data will be intact in sd card and phone memory.

frinds help i have wifi at home note is connected to it properly main problem is that even google page is taking lot to get opened on other hand i get download speed in google play store fine main problem is while surfing what to do i have once done factory reset also help

Can u also let me know how to find if am on a safe kernel...and how to install the kernels u have mentioned....while formatting data shouldwe wipe sd card and usb as well ?

AnonD-19710, 14 Mar 2013After rooting official jb rom how to install ultimate jb ro... moreSee... official rom is not deodexed, so if you apply airview mod or any other mod you may get soft brick. Its better you use rooted deodexed rom like ultimate 5.2 or eybee's stock deodexed rom. I am using Ultimate 5.2. First you have to install a safe kernel like philz or speedmod via pc odin. Then download the rom and copy it to your sd card. Now go to recovery mode (Vol up + power) and Full wipe /data/factory reset /cache and dalvik then Format /data /system and /preload and now flash the rom via cwm and Wait some minute until your phone boot.
**** Be sure you’re on SAFE KERNEL, then you can wipe.
