I have a problem with my Galaxy Note, last week I upgraded to ICS 4.0.3 thinking things would be better if anything but not the case.

I dont have the battery issues people keep complaining about but issues I have is with the video recording audio.

Before I upgraded I was using Gingerbread and audio was perfect, now that I upgraded to ICS its horrible, it sounds like they have major increased the gain control and now its extremely hissing constantly and sounds terrible.

Also when I record videos mainly in 720p I do not get full screen, it seems to chop off some of the screen but in playback I can view in full screen.

I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about these issues, and would you recommend I take my phone to a Samsung Service Centre and have it flashed back to Gingerbread if that is even possible.

I am kind of hoping the next update will fix these issues but since nobody is really complaining about it I am not confident.

    Thanks in advance

        [deleted post]nope.
I did experience once glitches and flashing when unlocked. And when it really was running out of battery there was some static. Other than that ICS worked like a charm.

well! I just get my taste on official ics 4.0.3 for my galaxy note this morning for KIES but before I updated through my computer, I had tried to update by OTA but server said " NO UPDATE AVAILABLE" while it showed from KIES that my phone ready to update it kinda strange. And for the battery thing not much different because when you got new OS upgrade you just play more with the phone but the things to avoid is not to install to many free App it may drain all of ur the battery up to 60-75% in 6 or 7 hours after fully charged even you're not using it. That is my six months experience for using this phone...

After ics update i have noticed the fast draining battery. Mine only lasted for about 9 hours. Used web a little bit and some txting. I am using a go launcher ex though.

From gb, my battery was superb.

But over all I have no regrets updating, my note is faster and more convinient using the web.

If battery is a big issue for you guys, then i suggest to stay with gingerbread. I would go back if given the chance with out rooting or flashing ny note. Either way I am happy with ics but the battery.

[deleted post]You have good copy-paste skills, about the lengthy explanation of how rechargeable batteries work. We thank you for your repeated copy-paste information from your undisclosed source.

Fortunately, I charge my 3 batteries when they get to less than 5% with a separate charger, but unlike you, I use my Note quite heavily, and get a realistic battery statistics of 7 to 8 hours. My spare fresh batteries will keep me powered the rest of the day. I even have a portable 6000mAh Mipow portable battery to charge my spent battery in my bag. I believe I have explained the same battery theories in my own words about 5 months back.

Not doing much with your Note can give you that 4 days battery stamina. We can read that over your battery stats. We know how to read percentages. You can stop posing like you wrote the entire scientific explanation of how rechargeable batteries work. Plagiarism is frowned upon in most cultures.

[deleted post]I don't understand why you're repeatedly posting this detailed article about the dangers of over/undercharging Li ion batteries? All your article tells me is that there are safeguards built-in the battery, thanks to which my battery won't short, or be damaged permanently. Your thing about overcharging the battery is only says that it is a fire hazard at 200 C, whereas our phone battery temp rarely exceeds 40 C.

Over/under charging the LI Ion battery does not affect the battery. These are Li Ion batteries, not Ni-Cd batteries. These batteries are not prone to the memory effect (in Ni-Cd batteries, the battery retains a 'memory' about how much it is charged, and at what level it is charged. If we were to charge a Ni-Cd battery at say 20% battery and stop at 80% for a number of cycles, it would not work below 20% or above 80%).

Also, your video shows that you barely switched on your phone. Your cell standby usage is more than the display usage. Achieving a 3-4 day standby time is very easy even on gingerbread. Please clarify your point. (Also, if you reply to this post, please DO NOT post your video link and article again).

it's on Settings -> About Phone -> Software Update -> Update (check for update)
check or uncheck the Wifi Only option depending on the connection you prefer to use to download the update
