I'm from Hyderabad, India. Yesterday I got an update in Gingerbread. And today, my phone prompted me that there is another firmware update (OTA). My brother's Note however couldn't find any OTA (because he did not select for automatic update in the settings) and we updated his Note by using Kies. Its around 312 mb update. Please remember that there are two firmware updates, one is Gingerbread upgrade and the next one is Ice cream sandwich. My Galaxy note and My brother's Galaxy note are now with Android Ice cream sandwich 4.0.3 and there are a plenty of new things including Premiere suite. Wow.. My phone is looking awesome now.

hi guys im frm india and i just updated my note over the air by a 36mb one.
its not ics?
im not getting any ics updates over my mob when i check at settings-about phone-sw update.
should i check thru kies oly?
cant i get the update through air to phone directly.
please help me dear users.

For all the rooted phones do unroot your phone before installing ics official update or u will mess up

Just to confirm : I've jus updated for ICS in INDIA it says in kies. PDA: LP8 PHONE: LP4 CSC: LP5. In the phone says android version 4.0.3!

Good news people from INDIA,LC1 was released a day ago, but right now i received a second update, it said it was for ICE CREAM SANDWICH! i'm updating right now thru kies!

Guys, i just updated my galaxy note to ics in India. First i got an update message in my mobile but that one was a 36 mb (approx) update and after doing that update i connected my mobile to pc via kies and then i got the update message for ics..had some problems initially as i connect over a proxy but after few tries got it updated correctly . Its working fine without any errors as of now....

hey can anybody tellme wether theve had the update in the uk?
i updated to a leacked firmware of android advices initialy xxlpy then zslpf now when i go on kies it says this device cannot update through kies is it possible to revert back to the original gingerbread os so i can then get the official updates. my phone isnt rooted or anything just updated to the firmware using odin.
