Had used it less than 1 week, other than the size, really superb
But for middle-age to elderly,the 'massive screen' is an advantage when reading it is so easy and no need to put on a reading glass if we are wearing spectacle for shortsightedness.
I am not complaining about the size,as those of you feel that it is too big, don't buy it, it is not make for those who like elegant phone
Note is for those who enjoy reading alot from the phone where even the iphone is tiring after a while.At the same time we do not want to carry a small tablet n phone at the same time
Those who really use a phone as a phone only(maybe with sms),then get a cute small phone n a tablet,but don't complaint
My few days experience tell me that in the software part, Android is still not as smooth as Apple, it cannot be denied. Iphone is cute n is an art in itself, but for clarity on reading (prolonged), it lose out to Samsung Note here

Im planning to buy the galaxy note, just few questions how is the sunlight visibility of note and how loud is the ringing volume and also how is picture quality of galaxy note when pics are clicked at night time or in dark

You just need time knowing the device and research facts. I can imagine you have smaller hands. I'm tired of hearing owners of the Note about "hard to handle with one hand". You got this. Use it properly and it has a whole lot of benefits. If you don't like it, get rid of it and settle for something that suits you best.
As I have mentioned, the 2.3.6 OS update has the OPTIONAL smaller virtual key pad layout. Check the keyboard settings. I'm sorry as coming out as harsh.

The battery will slowly increase capacity after a few cycles. Hard use time after that will be 7 hours. Medium usage will be 12 to 18 hours. Light usage will be 1.5 days. I have observed this from the extra original Note batteries.
Rose, don't comment if you don't own the Galaxy Note. You obviously are just picking up buzz words and using then to sound like you actually know what the Note is all about.

hello note owners, my note's battery life suddenly started falling down ... before on standby mode it used to fall 2% in four hours or so but now its 10% in four hours....is it due to some applications i downloaded from market or its a virus attack?? im experimentin by uninstalling recent downloaded apps ......but still its same....any guess guys???please help me out ....I DONT WANT TO RESET MY NOTE!!!as i have many apps....i have installed many apps long back but it worked fine ...suddenly it started this mess...

What are you on about "fatter"? I think you meant 2mm THICKER than the 7.7. Do you know how 2 mm is in actual? You should read their specs closer - they are priced within the same cost range, the 7.7 has only a 3MP camera and no Wacom S pen. In fact, the Note pricing has gone down a bit.

Samsung Galaxy Note is fatter than the 7.7 Tab. For this price It should be further slimmer and have 32 GB internal storage. However, having a card slot is an advantage though. And may be due to these factors, the new iPhone might take over its business. Anyhow, one more positive point to end up is, Samsung Galaxy Note is having a full web browser and a Super AMOLED Screen of that size.

I just keep my Note to vib... morei am not talking abt battery saving option. i am talking about profiles for ur sound. my nokia phone use to change the profiles means it will automaticlly change it to ringing from silent at stipulated time set by me.

[deleted post]Sorry, I never had a Nokia unit. I just keep my Note to vibrate mode for calls and beeping for text. Nothing fancy.
If you want a customized scheduled battery profile power saving, for different days and times, that would be from buying the Juice Defender Ultimate.
