I purchased the Galaxy Note two days ago. Personally, I like it, including the large screen and the S Pen. But I agree the price is high and can be less.
However, before buying, understand that it is BIG and not easy to carry everywhere. Decide what features you want in your phone; decide whether the features of the Note are necessary for you. Make a cardboard box of the same size as the Note, put your current phone inside it, and carry it around for a while. See if you feel comfortable. Do a comparison with other phones. Check out the Galaxy Ace; less than half the price. Check out Motorola Droid RAZR--slim, tough Kevlar body, gorilla glass, etc. Don't be disappointed after purchasing it.

Finally got the original Samsung S pen Holder accessory with an extra S pen for $46. It's the same active (and not just capacitive) Wacom smart pen but with a fatten mostly study shiny plastic (I think), metallic & rubber finger-thumb grip casing to size it up and added weight as a regular metallic pen. I tested the casing with a magnet to see if it's really metal, but somehow it's magnetized empty since slightly repels the magnet.
It has a good weight to feel as heavy as it needs to be, and the thickness is needed to grip the rubberized portion comfortably. It's more natural than the thin built of the original one.
This will be a great help for those who user the Note for some digital art for those fine details.

its been a week now using note ,battery time is 7 hours spot on with heavy usage ,so should b enough for most of us and yes this unit never hangs ,good work samsung ,waiting for ics ,should b thr by march end

This helps you maintain your batteries life cycles by charging only when they are drained. One charge without having to root the Note can last only up to 7 hours with hard use.
If you are not such a heavy user, Juice Defender is a great app that turns off the radios and just turns on when it needs to check for updates and when you use it. It turns off the wifi when you forget when idle.

raydon, 07 Feb 2012phone memory will be erased if u update the operating syste... moreUse Samsung Kies and take a backup of all the things you need (Contacts, settings, SMS etc) on your PC. You can restore the same later.
