I do have this unit right now and my only concern is, why i do have a "1" on the message icon when i do not have any messages?? How can i remove it?? an urgent reply will be greatly appreciated!

i am facing a problem oh hanging of display in my gt n-7000, and showing a problem of "the process.acore.android has stopped" kindly suggest how to solve this issue,,,,,it's breaking my head.. anyone help pls...IT WAS WITH 4.1.2 JELLY BEAN
