Samsung's Galaxy Ring was announced back at MWC 2024 but it took nearly five months until we got its full specs, pricing, and availability details. It may be the smallest member of the Galaxy family, but Galaxy Ring is arguably the most impressive gadget at today's Galaxy Unpacked event. It’s the culmination of years of R&D in health and activity tracking and is shaping up to be the next big thing in the world of health monitoring.

Samsung Galaxy Ring comes in Black, Silver, and Gold colors. It’s available in US ring sizes 5-13 all of which are made from grade 5 titanium alloy. The design of the ring is concave with the sides tapering into the middle. All of the health tracking sensors, batteries, and charging pins are on the inside, hidden under a layer of epoxy resin.

Samsung will ship out a free sizing kit with each Galaxy Ring order and you are then advised to wear the sample on your finger for at least 24 hours before confirming your final choice. You can also try out the different-sized rings at Samsung retail stores and pick out the right one on the spot.

Galaxy Ring pairs over Bluetooth LE 5.4 and will work with any Android smartphone running Android 11 or later alongside the Samsung Galaxy Wearable app. The good news is that users will not be required to purchase any additional subscriptions to access their health and activity data.

Galaxy Ring also supports pinch gesture controls. You can pinch your thumb and index fingers while wearing the ring to control your Galaxy smartphone with the ability to take photos or dismiss alarms. It’s also compatible with Samsung Find and can use its built-in LED lights to flash when misplaced.

Samsung’s new Galaxy Ring tracks your standard array of health metrics including heart rate via its optical PPG sensor and skin temperature thanks to the built-in sensor. Samsung is also betting big on sleep tracking with the Galaxy Ring thanks to its low-profile design which makes it comfortable to wear 24/7. Galaxy Ring’s sleep tracking features an active sleep score with snoring analysis and additional metrics like movement during sleep, sleep latency, heart and respiratory rate.
