Samsung Galaxy Ring will blink when you lose it

Samsung has semi-unveiled its first smart ring, aptly named Galaxy Ring, back in February at MWC, and its full introduction is expected to happen in July at the company's next Unpacked event. We've already told you about its battery capacities (differing per size) as well as rumored pricing.

Now an APK teardown of the Samsung Find app has revealed a few more details about the ring. It will have a Lost mode, which will let you make the ring blink in order to find it.

For this, the Galaxy Ring will employ an LED light. Once you turn on Lost mode, the Samsung Find app will tell you if it's managed to get the ring's light to blink or if is unable to connect with it.

Lost mode will also let you lock your Samsung account from the Samsung Find app so no one else will be able to use the ring or access your information in case it's really lost.

This will be a step further than what Samsung's main competitor Oura offers for its rings - those will enter a Restricted Mode when attempting to pair with a new device. This mode will cause the Oura app to prompt you to factory reset the ring. This procedure will erase all data since the last sync, unfortunately.
