From a software developer point, Huawei will use its new arc compiler in its new OS which will make it from 60% to 80% percent faster than what it is today. Which means Chinese android phones will be the fastest in the world within 2 years from now on. Xiaomi, Oppo and other Chinese phone makers will use the same compiler as Huawei.

While the XS max is a great camera it... moreThe problem with S10 plus camera after compare to my iPhone XS Max camera some time camera underexposed the scene light and photos kinda dim and not as bright as what the scene shows, in case of iPhone it doesn’t has this issue other than the camera it’s excellent.
Ps. Night mode works well now after May security patch and additional software update that comes 2 days after May security patch specific for overall camera performance.

If you are urgent to have a phone now, YES S10+ is worth. Its price is down slightly now. Personally, I prefer S10 in the S10 family.
If you do not have to buy a phone now and your budget is okay, it is better to wait for the next Samsung Galaxy (i.e S11). If your budget is okay too, buy the flagship one instead of midrange phones, except you really need a dedicated microSD card slot.

I'm thinking of buying a new phone. The budget is not a problem. I'm currently using a mid range phone from 2016, which I bought because of the 5000mah battery. I've been changing phones every two years. I really want to buy the S10+, but is it worth it spending a thousand bucks? Or should I settle for another midrange phone?
I bought the first Galaxy, and my dad is still using it. Huawei is currently out of my options (due to the issues). And, I'm not a fan of pop out camera. Most of my friends are recommending Xiaomi/Pocophone/ other Chinese brands. Lol. Also not a fan of Apple.

However, this sort of stuff is generally opinion based. You get what looks best for you. The majority of people I have shown the S10+ including XS Max owners agree the S10+ has better pictures.
S10+ doesn't do a great job in low light though. I believe a firmware update can definitely fix that.
