However, this sort of stuff is generally opinion based. You get what looks best for you. The majority of people I have shown the S10+ including XS Max owners agree the S10+ has better pictures.
S10+ doesn't do a great job in low light though. I believe a firmware update can definitely fix that.

Why new Samsung 1.1 interface on S10+. removed some common sense useful features that are in 9.5 interface on NOTE 9?
-No longer option to answer phone call with a tap instead of swiping.
-Tapping on a contact widget from your desktop no longer initiates dialing the number. Instead it first asks you what you want to do next : to dial this contact or send a message to this contact.

I’m using both IPhone XS Max and S10 plus both cameras are good especially after last update and my advice to you first try both phones then decide don’t listen to any one in this page or other page including me.
