      One UI 5.1 update!!!

Just like Samsung, this here will be my last time writing about this wonderful device as it's reaching the end of its update cycle.

      Huge rant alert!

I got this marvelous phone by the beginning of 2021, and by then it was already at Android 11 One UI 3. Before I start my rant I'd like to mention the reasons I'm glad I've got this phone and the aspects I will reconsider for my next phone.

      I'm glad for:
      1. The big, flat, amazing 6.7' display.
      2. The huge 4,500 battery
      3. A more than decent Snapdragon 855, very much capable today.
      4. 128GB memory plus SD, probably my last device to have these features.
      5. It's fast charging capabilities 25W up to 45W. Whichever it is, it's crazy fast.

      I wish these were better:

      1. The camera, it's great in daylight, both pictures and video are amazing. However, at night not so much.
      2. A telephoto camera, I have no use for the macro, given it is really nice.
      3. IP protection, it is essential for me, it triggers my anxiety to know I am unprotected against rain or splashes.
      4. Stereo speakers, having just a bottom one is not fun.

Having said that, I am glad this is my phone, and I feel sad as this is starting to feel as a goodbye.

On to the One UI 5.1 impressions (my phone updated over two weeks ago):

      1. This feels like the finished product of what One UI 4 was meant to be. It's all super polished and very well optimized. Not to mention it's smooth and very well animated.
      2. Nothing seems to be affected so far, camera, speed, it's all good.
      3. It all seems very customizable, and since I've been using GoodLock, it feels much better integrated.
      4. Sadly, many flagship features were never included from the Google feed instead of Samsung's Free, to some Gallery and camera features.

That's all, it's really just an esthetic update that fixes some features.

      Thanks for reading.

Long live, the odd experiment and forefather to the FE line that was the s10 Lite!

Are you sure about de 45w charger? I recently lost my charger and now that I am looking for a new one, I saw on some sites that this phone comes with a 25w charger. Can you check out if this is true? Or, at least, pls tell me how can I verify this. Thank you!

Camera is as usual Awesome like flagship phones. Still getting 7 to 8 hours screen on time without gaming but lots of net surfing including Twitter, fb, whatsapp, Instagram, youtube evrything. No heating issue whatsoever. SP 855 is a Charm.

PhotoRevival, 30 Jan 2023The 5th S10 series phone, this was supposed to be the A91, ... moreMain camera hardware is actually better than in s10 given that s10 lite has a bigger sensor. IMX586 is really decent sensor capable of producing less noisy and more detailed output. It's Samsung stock camera app that cripples s10 lite more than it cripples s10. You can easily bypass it by installing gcam.

Surprisingly got February security patch update that too early.

the best battery life i ever had on a phone. hands down. everything else is just ok.

The 5th S10 series phone, this was supposed to be the A91, but retained the S series naming mostly for marketing purposes.

This one is confusing a bit, especially when compared to the co-launched Note10 Lite, and the rest of the S10 series of phones.

The cameras were clearly a page from the A series, using a triple lense system akin to the A series of phones, not the 3 focal lengths shared by the Note10 Lite and the rest of the S10 series. What made it more confusing that it was the tallest S10 phone (taller than the S10 5G despite the same screen size, due to the taller aspect ratio), and that it launched when there was already a cheaper S10 phone, the S10e.

It still had the Snapdragon 855, which is a flagship processor that's still decent to use today in 2023 (which says alot about the SD processors from 2019), but the rest of the phone was nothing like the S10 series of phones.

Maybe if it remained with the A91 name, it would've been less confusing

old but still support android 13.
I had a galaxy S7 which I replaced at that time because it didnt get android 9 ( in 2019 )

I would like to know more about the experience with android 13 in the next few weeks, so if it's not a problem, would like you to give us another update.. (im still hesitant to install it)... Ty

                                  Android 13 update!

I've been anticipating the One UI 5 update for a bit over two weeks (it was announced at the beginning of December) and to my surprise I came home to a wonderful notification this afternoon.

Here's a rough 6 hours impressions and rant:

                                  1. Finally the themed icons make sense, trust me, it looks miles better than what they used to.
                                  2. Animations are much smoother
                                  3. There's been a couple of customization updates and new settings, but nothing life changing.
                                  4. Battery seems okay, camera too. (I wiped cache immediately after update)
                                  5. Notifications bar seems smaller, I didn't love that.

For the s10 series owners or anyone else who won't be going past Android 13, it's nothing to loose sleep over.

If necessary, I shall make an update after a week or so of use.

                                  Cheers!

Well, got 13 few days ago. Nothing new. Updates are going backwards. Will go with s9+ if battery could keep up.
