It must be in software itself, then. Like you said, rollback is an option. Another one is sit & wait. I truly don't believe they wouldn't fix it, since it's proven issue and indeed unacceptable to live with while there are users reporting good battery. Hence there must be a fix. Goodlock till then..

Anonymous, 26 Mar 2023Will it work on android 11 as well ?Go to samfw website and see. The bit / software revision / security patch level number must be the same for the current android 13 patch and the android 11 patch that you want to flash. In case for India (INS) the last android 11 patch has date of 01st November 2021.

In case of A52s 5G the bit / software revision number became 2 from the android 13 Feb 2023 patch instead of 1. At that time I didn't know about the bit numbers and all. A52s 5G had android 12 Oct 2022 patch (bit / software revision 1). I took the CP and home CSC from the android 13 Feb 2022 patch (bit / software revision 2) and flashed. The phone got corrupted and I had to flash the android 13 full OS Feb 2023 patch to return to normal. I am unable to flash the android 12 because of the android 13 bit number 2. Heartless samsung.

There's only one user with R5v in the address and that's me. I've only started posting a few times here (the first one last March 25, 2023) and this is just my fifth post (R5v). I'm still trying to reduce the 3% per hour battery drain of my S20 FE 5G. I might rollback if nothing else works because I've already factory reset my phone twice and it's the same problem.

Set restart + Android 12* >>> All other features + Security
                then O.K.
                If I
never used auto restart (do only occasionally) & use Device care widget = one tap = easy
                then
All current features + Security >>> Android 12*

*Further OS upgrades are generally less optimized in certain areas on all devices, aren't they? (not visible on chinese phones since they won't get any *cough*) Plus there are (deliberate) visual and functional UI changes and not all are necessarily welcomed by all. For my needs and usage, 5.1 is definitely worth over running 12. I do see a space for optimization though (A52s OneUI 5.0).

I can't see anybody here denying the problem.

As for the issue. I did not read plenty on this since not needed - it obviously does exist for some Samsung flagships users. But why do you people conclude it's definite and intentional? If you have tried all and it still drains battery like this, there's surely need for their fix. I'd expect them to bring it in the first place, especially if the other users do not suffer from any such drain. And you've just confirmed the same for other Samsung devices.

Probably nothing else to do than wait.

Battery Life seems to have improved considerably after the March 23 software update here in Pune city in India (Airtel & Jio SIMs, both 5G).
I have been using the phone for just a few days since the update, but that is my first impression.
Will post again after a few weeks.
BTW, can anyone tell me how to record night mode videos on S20 FE 5g?

I came to this forum because of battery drain issues under Android 13 for my 256GB Samsung S20 FE 5G. 100% to 76% overnight from 10PM to 6AM with the phone screen off, on standby, without anything running in the background - no recent apps, mobile data off, location off, bluetooth off, mute on, AOD off is no joke! It's a horrendous performance from a phone that's not even a month old from the time I bought it in sealed box condition, not refurbished! Here, read this: https://r2.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-S/Battery-drainage-in-Samsung-s21plus-in-day-and-night-at-idle/td-p/13575770 and this: https://r2.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-S/in-galaxy-s20fe-battery-draining-is-too-fast/td-p/6583837 similar complaints from legit Samsung users like me before you accuse me as trolling. And for your information, I own SEVEN SAMSUNG phones/tablets! The Tab S5e, the Tab A7 lite, The A71, A52 5G, and three M23 5G and none of them are experiencing horrendous battery drain like my 256GB S21 FE 5G! They drain at most 5%, when on standby and not used overnight!

My S20 FE 5G standby battery drain is 3% per hour, it's horrendous! It's 100% when I sleep at 10PM but drains to 76% when I wake up at 6AM! That's 24% drop in 8hrs when the phone screen is off, doing nothing (mobile data off, wifi off, bluetooth off, location off, AOD off, screen off). Samsung is INTENTIONALLY killing this phone with the latest OneUI updates that's draining the battery fast. I thought only Xiaomi phones do this battery drain manipulation as the phone gets older to force you to upgrade. Well now I'm certain all phone manufacturers do it. (iPhones included). Tried doing everything including factory reset and still the same. I have the Snapdragon 5G variant which is supposed to be battery efficient compared to the 4G Exynos. All phone manufacturers are greedy. They come up with battery killing updates when the phone model is old so you upgrade to a new one.
