Anonymous, 14 Mar 2023How does one activate night mode for recording videos on S2... moreHey guys.
Any comments on my earlier post about night mode for video recording?

    India :
If you want to force your phone to use only the jio 5G network* to use data, use the 5G setting app by cast4tv and set to NR only mode (give only phone permission).
    * means : voice calls using the mobile network will not work by this method till jio launches VoNR

This will be helpful to those who are using limited data plan and to prevent the phone switch to 4G mode if kept in all network auto mode.

Before upgrading to Android 13 One UI 5.0, I used to get 7-8 hours SOT, after upgrading to Android 13 One UI 5.0, I am getting 4-5.30 hours SOT. My device is just 7 months old. After upgrading to One UI 5.1, many Indian users are reporting (on the Samsung Membes) even more battery drain. Mine is Indian Variant. The company is deliberately reducing battery capacity on the Indian variant via software updates in order to force the users to buy new phones.

Finally sold my S20FE 5G mobile today..which I just used for 52days. It was a good device but only loophole was my unfortunate SIM card tray issue. Well I switched to a 2nd hand S22 Ultra now. :)

I mean samsung would have tested this ( current display ) wih FHD resolution but enhancing it might create issue with screen. Also i creates additional load on CPU.

Video resolution : 1080x2400 (remains the same)
For me it's very useful because I work a lot with an app that is close to Photoshop. Not just editing photos, but rather creating stuff from zero. After the change , I can edit large images easier.
I've asked ChatGPT what exactly happens when I do that and it says that the pixels are split in half. It probably does use more battery since it has to render double the amount. But I always keep the phone in power saving mode, unless I really need it .

Anonymous, 13 Mar 2023When would be the last security update for this phone pushe... moreIn upcoming october is last regular (monthly) OS/security updates
afterwards it would be demoted to quartely security updates (possibly no update to android 14 would be expected) for other year until october 2024 where it would fully be removed from the update list
this phone is months older than the regular s20 series so on the atleast you can expect more recent security updates to this phone, and maybe even android 14 if samsung decides to be generous enough

When would be the last security update for this phone pushed? 2023 october security patch?

Sharjeel78, 09 Mar 2023Fingerprint sensor stopped working on my S20 Fe 5g suddenly... moreI had the same issue after Jan update (G781BXXS4GWA5). I was worried. since I was in a remote area those days, I couldn't show it to any service center. once I updated my phone to One UI 5.1 (G781BXXU4HWB1), fingerprint sensor issue got resolved. my nephew had the same issue with his S21 FE. when he updated it to 5.1 yesterday, his phone started working normal.

This is phone is unbeatable even on 2023, even than the S21 FE. Give me one reason to switch. Idrc, but heres how its way better and about the same as the s21 FE:
                            - Has DeX
                            - 4500 battery with 25w supercharge
                            - stereo speakers
                            - about the same camera
                            - who cares about screen. super amoled still rocks
                            - MicroSD external storage up to 1TB
                            - 120hz
                            - snapdragon 865 > exynos 2100
and who cares about software? this phone could hold for other 10 years!

Even on YouTube you can only find a handful of videos and they're basically all non English speaking..
Why would someone buy a phone with a 'pathetic' fhd resolution to begin with.
Me thinks he wants someone to try it but doesn't want to try it himself..

The display is limited through software to FHD, but it can be changed with wm in the terminal.
I know that it's not the same as a native WQHD display (density), but there's a big improvement !

Sorry, I typed 2400 instead of 3200. I did mention that after.
                                        The old resolution : 1080x2400
                                        New resolution : 1440x3200
Photos and YouTube never looked better ! I was actually a bit sad because my old phone had WQHD+ and then jumped to S20 FE 5G with pathetic FHD. There's a huge difference when you look at photos ! Whoever says that there's no difference needs an urgent eye doctor appointment .
