For those worrying about Device care - Automation, Auto optimize daily and auto restart

I have been working in rotational shifts and I have kept these automation options OFF
As I don't want my device to do these on own

It can be easily done manually

Also with Android and one UI getting smarter
You don't necessarily need these to be done even manually

I had automation ON few days just to check the difference but there is no significant difference.

If you want more smoother and consistent animations - turn off adaptive battery and turn on enhanced processing
Through, It will drain more battery a bit.

Once or twice in a month just close all background apps from recent and Reboot your device
That's it!!!

Rejeesh, 17 Dec 2022Screen shoot option very badTaking screenshots with Power+VOL Down is awkward indeed. But there is when Good Lock app comes in handy - you can assign "take screenshot action" to Double Back Tap or Long Press Power. Or you can use Edge Panel, you can put various shortcuts there, and you have a screenshot option too.

S . SUDHAKAR, 16 Dec 2022We must be able to customise the optimisation and auto rest... moreThe thing is we don't have to. Try to understand it. No bashing.

I'll answer for the latter phone since have that. NO, they HAVE changed it. No denying of it. So what? It doesn't mean I/somebody can't use Android13.

The point is that it's YOUR choice, NOT GENERAL. If it's not acceptable for you, may decide to not upgrade. At the same time you decide for no new features, no improvements, no updated security (in the 1st place). It's the same as decision to keep Android11. If person chooses it, it's business of his/you/me/anybody own. As long as he understands and doesn't deny all aspects, no need to convince him.

As for a matter itself. If they asked me, I'd say no need to change. I'd better have control than this 'automatic' way, coz it may not be optimal or even cause undesired actions. They didn't. Now, is this that big issue, worth refuse upgrade?? (incl.all mentioned) NOT for me. If this 'automatic' was too active and causing problems it would be worse, but it's not the case. So the result is basically no more user scheduled optimization. I CAN live with it for sure. It still can be done manually anytime, alternatively called 3rd party for help.
Plus, I've already posted about my currently rather testing than rigid approach on the phone.

Go ahead and keep Android12 OneUI5 for years if it's important and you think good for you. I'll do my own thing. Not all must see it the way you do. Bring your opinion and arguments, but let others make their own opinion and decisions.

(Didn't know about 'midnite job' cause I don't spend my time collecting information on internet. I'll check.)

                  To all :

                  Android 13 in Samsung S20 FE 5G :
                  > Has removed the storage booster option (at least clearing the cache at midnight)

                  > Has removed the restart whenever needed

                  > Has removed the automation feature which was present in android 12 that allowed us to customise the optimisation time (clear cache) and the day + time of auto restart.

                  Android 13 in A52s 5G :
                  > Has removed the automation feature and the phone will clear the cache only at midnight (12 AM)

                  > No option to customise the phone restart day and time. There is only an option called 'restart when needed'

                  Open challenge to all :
Before bashing this comment, can you prove that the above removed features are still there in android 13?.

S . SUDHAKAR, 15 Dec 2022No need man. Just stop charge till 98% and charge at 15%. D... moreYour answer doesn't even refer to the question. Why are you messing around here? You're not helping much, post ton of crap posts completely irrelevant to the subjects being talked about, you strongly voice not updating phone software (and that is the whole idea of a software - it can be upgraded to squish out bugs) and you dismiss people having hardware problems, saying that you don't have any so they shouldn't have them too (which is the stupidest explanation I've ever heard).

I don't want to sound rude but don't you have anything better to do in your spare time?

A few thoughts for users here.

A battery drain? Weird. No reason with SD chip, not present on A52s/SD778G. Thus not Android13/OneUI5 general feature. Must be resolved.

Automatic optimization seems to be more like do nothing than do unnecessary actions. Once you've upgraded: If you're used to clean RAM/restart in the night, just do it before sleep/when you wake up - that's it.

See Tips app for neat OneUI 5 What's new summary.

Note this is not meant to be any kind of advice to update or not. Just some FYI. Cheers.

The useful automation feature (tap on the 3 dots on the top corner in the device care app) in android 12 is removed. It gave us option to customise the optimisation and restart time.

All other persons here are PC users who are just addicted to updates. Do not care about them.
