              This phone is much much better than the latest flagship phones as it offers much more and work flawlessly. I'm highly impressed with it and won't switch to any other (so called) flagships anytime sooner till they get the basics right.

                  As per Airtel they said they just upgraded there 4g towers , so it's capable of handling 5g network, considering that technically wherever 4g tower is present, users should be able to latch onto 5g signals, I checked my area has no 5g, so going to nearby 5g tower to check the phone if it's able to get 5g,

                  Anyway not so keen on getting 5g because firstly the prices will increase by 30-50% , 4g speeds already down , telecom providers will intentionally reduce 4g speeds even further so subscribers migrate to 5g,, here where I stay I get 4g speeds 20-40mbps , mostly I use wifi, so i just recharge with 455rs 6gb data unlimited calls.

                    Hmmm Yes Guys, it's true that now Airtel app says Airtel 5g phone compatible and 5g software compatible, previous post was immediately after checking, I honestly Apologize I'm sorry, I retract my comments, but yes just a minute ago though Airtel thanks app said software compatible, still not received 5g signals, that's a minute ago update, any further changes let me know

                          MikeM, 19 Oct 2022Guys as of yet no 5g firmware update on S20fe 5g anywhere i... moreIf you have received 1 October 2022 patch of the size 264.44 MB release date 13 October 2022 (https://doc.samsungmobile.com/SM-G781B/INS/doc.html), then download and install airtel thanks app. It should prompt you to check for airtel 5G compatibility and as confirmed by another user, it should now show no software update is required.
                          For 5G to work:
                          1. You need to have the software version as mentioned.
                          2. You need to be near a site with a 5G tower.
                          3. This is for airtel 5G plus only, I have seen no change in Jio so far which I think is invite-based only.

                          I hope it answers your assumption of "fake news".

                            Can anyone inform what 5g speeds are they getting on jio and Airtel in this phone.

                                  Guys as of yet no 5g firmware update on S20fe 5g anywhere in India, The mystery about the 2nd security patch remains mystery, because I tried force 5g , app on Playstore, install the app check yourself, when to 5g NR (New radio) , there was absolutely no signal on the phone, for s20 Fe 5g patch will be released by mid November, don't keep your hopes high, because whoever is saying they are receiving 5g signals on this phone are simply lying spreading fake news

                                    Donz, 18 Oct 2022After seeing your message I tried searching for update &... moreairtel Thanks app now states that my phone is compatible with their 5G plus network (again provided I have a 5G tower nearby which is not true in the area of my residence), no software update prompt now. So, the second October patch did have something in those extra 30-35 MB to enable 5G on my S20 FE 5G 😄
                                    Please see what does it say for you when it checks for the same?

                                      Donz, 18 Oct 2022After seeing your message I tried searching for update &... moreWell, additional battery drain is expected and I do not travel frequently to Connaught Place area where the phone had 5G. Best bet is to check Speedtest app for spots where 5G is live. I have no 5G near my residence so it's just a case of very few spots live with 5G cell towers in service is all I can understand.

                                        Let me know incase you face additional battery drain when using 5G (saw it somewhere it might happen due to the chipset design)
