Did you notice anything different after the upd... moreThe battery is way btr after this update for me (the April and March ones did the opposite) and the overheating overall is toned down. The battery usage from using the camera is also lesser but idk abt the overheating (cuz I put it in a case while using the camera)

Astolfo, 21 May 2021what's vanilla?vanilla meaning the base S21, or base model of lineup. So for Mi 11 lineup, the vanilla model would be the base Mi 11, or the new iPhone lineup, the vanilla model would be the iPhone 12 and so on and so forth

ML, 20 May 2021If it's true, why did they remove it?It seems that they have changed the motherboard design to accommodate a larger battery. I think it's due to cost and space constrains, that they removed the heat pipe. The motherboard is now stacked too, meaning more heat gets trapped inside.

I think I found out why it's overheating: They removed the heat pipe that was present in their pervious flagships (like the S7 - S10). They removed it first on the S20, now on their S21 series as well.

I'm staying in singapore and I got the S21+ exynos version with april software update and been using it for 5 days. It'll only overheat when you keep zooming in and with camera app. The phone temperature is at 36.8°C when I'm not using it and 39°C when it's charging.

So, the only difference of the S21 vs S21+ is a larger screen and a bigger battery?

Swordman, 12 May 2021S21+ :
Better battery life
Flat screen
Better camera z... moreCamera comparison tends to be subjective. S21 doesn't have good camera quality (except selfie) but M11 is even worse. And that goes for the phone as well: S21 is no good but Mi11 is worse.
M11 Ultra has better cam quality. S20 has better cam quality, but you'd better stay away from Exynos version. So if you are in Exynos region, the answer is "None".
