When your phone is close enough to your eyes that you can see the difference between 1080p and 1440p, it's dangerous for your eyes anyway. And if that's not a factor, there is absolutely NO benefit for upping the resolution. With 1440p, you get worse battery life, worse frame rates, lower brightness on LCD displays, and more throttling. I really hope that 1440p displays on phones die soon, they're so pointless.

Also no, you did not say after S6 and S6 Edge. You just said that those phones had bad battery life.

And also that graphics card comparison is one of the worst comparisons I've ever seen, because at least you can tell the difference between 1080p and 1440p at above 20", and no one holds their phone that close to their eyes (and if you do you have other problems to worry about). 1440p does absolutely NOTHING at this screen size but waste battery and push your GPU harder. 1080p also makes it easier to maintain a higher frame rate, which is infinitely more important at this screen size. Samsung isn't taking steps back with this lower resolution, they're finally realizing that it's taking steps forward.

But you don t buy a flagship if your most important thing is the battery . But puttin an 1080p display on that kinda of price on a smartphone is like buying a high end graphic card and play on 1080p screen.6 inch is a big screen and you hold it very close to you eyes you can tell the difference. People complain about a charger who cost 10$ but they did not complain about a screen downgrade that cost more than 100$.

                  I bought 2 S21 5G phones & i've never had so many problems with a phone. It constantly shuts down in the middle of calls, texting, doing anything, its overheats & when i called to explain the issues they actually expect me to be without a phone for weeks this is the worst customer service & all they have to do is give me a new one or even let me stop paying my balance of $1200 & i'll just go back to my old one. PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE

                      I've had quite a few phones in my life, but no phone had a screen that scratched as much as this Samsung Galaxy S21. It's been three months and it's scractched so much I can barely read on this phone. I never dropped it and I use it pretty infrequently, compared to most smartphone users. It pains me to think I wasted over 800 euros on this piece of garbage.

                          Why! It's probably just cause the parts of iphones are made by Samsung, and when it comes to brightness, I think the display of the iphone is really good!

                            I'm happy to be an old fart.

                            Cannot see any difference between 407ppi (Galaxy 20 FE) , 431ppi (Galaxy a41) and Galaxu s20 (563ppi).

                            My experience is that with an excellent Amoled screen just be above 400ppi.

                            In danish we call it "fly fucking" when you insist that marginal differences matters.

They thought window OS was the future, but it turned out not to be. Sammy is very smart. They copy and follow the best which is Apple. That's why they became the top mobile phone company in the last 6 years. I had s1-s5. It was not that great. LG makes better phones than sammy. Lg failed for the last 6 years because they don't follow or copy from Apple. Still rocking my LG v30 for almost 4 years now. 0 complaints.

                                Something that was not made anymore! Samsung then became plastic and poor quality !!!!
                                I wish the price of new Samsung phones was higher, but its design and quality were maintained.
                                Samsung was among the most high-quality and luxurious categories, such as the J5 and J7 PRo 2017
                                High quality metal body with excellent design and suitable hardware! Along with a great price!

                                But now all the mid-range Samsungs are plastic and of poor quality.

                                And the camera and screen between Samsung's new categories do not have the same quality as before!

                                I think Samsung is in decline and will have the same fate as Nokia - HTC and LG

I have s10e and i don t like the display quality compare to my friends s20 or s10 .Before i had s6 edge from the time was launched.1440p on 5.1 inch. But at least this was decent size , not as big , that was the reason that i choose it and not to mentions what cheaper compare to s10 when arived.
                                  S21 is more expensive than S20 and has less features.
                                  1080p is a resolution for mid range smartphones , not high end . If we don t complain about that will mean that we could pay everything they sell just because is the new shiny thing.

                                    1. 1080p display is ideal for small phone. It uses less battery compared to 1440p display.
                                    2. Phone looks premium and nice even with plastic back. It does not break if it drops. Everyone puts on the case anyway. It is redundant if it has glass back or not.
                                    3. Does not feel premium? You think using a premium phone makes u a better person than others? dumb.
                                    4. Yall consumers are just pathetic.
