I'm upgrading to S21 from S9 plus. Plastic cover doesn't really bother me as I always use back cover. Getting ear buds live solves the no head set issue. Also I got 50$ coupon with preorder which I used to buy wall charger and headphone adapter. So again no complains for no charger/headset.

I see that this comment section is full of people hating and crying as usual.
This is the almost perfect compact flagship phone.
The predecessor S20 had 2 main weak points - design and battery - And this one fixes those two weak points completely.
Within the design, they have removed the fragile/useless glass back. Plastic is not great but still better than glass. They also removed the curved display, another useless gimmick that made the phone become more expensive.
For me I dont care about losing MicroSD; I think the only thing remaining for this being perfect is the audio jack, but sadly its gone.

The EU base price is ab... moreUsually middle East countries have the lowest price for Samsung devices.
It usually is accurate for most of the electronics too.
For example I bought a Laptop from Saudi at 1400$ and the same laptop was 1700 on Amazon US.

Samsung has announced that there will be no free earphones or charging adapter inside the box of any of the Galaxy S21 series phones. Samsung has also eliminated the microSD card slot from the Galaxy S21 series.

No MicroSD card?
No 3.5mm Headphone jack? (and no earbuds included)
No Infrared? (just adding another item, I know we are not in the 90's)
No heart rate sensor / O2?
No QHD? (actually a compromise I personally can live with if it means more battery life...)
Same Camera sensors (with a ridiculous x1.06 telephoto lens - are you serious??)
Same battery size
Bigger bezels & plastic back?
Is this progress? Is this how an alternative to iPhone should look like?
Well there are a lot of colors to chose from... I guess this is supposed to comfort us.
It's a sad imitation of an iPhone.
Samsung was always the sensible choice, It doesn't seem to be so with this model.

Went to another store that had all standard color options for S21 series.
A few things I've noticed
- phone frame on S21/S21+ goes further front than on S10e (and I think much further than on S10). As a result silver/rose frame is quite more pronounced and is somewhat annoying. Frame on S10e was more subdued.
- black frame looks like a continuation of display bezels and is very nice
- out of all color options pink back looks the best (but is for girls); white back is fine, but not good enough; violet has not captured me; black is actually somehat grayish and is reflective(dispersive?) and when compared to the mat black or black black of S21+ it sucks
- Gosh, that S21+ black is sexy
In the end I don't like all presented color options for S21 and I don't use cases, so ... should I keep S10e for another year?

The EU base price is about € 713 without VAT/sales tax. Sales tax brings it up to € 849.
The US price gets bumped up at the moment of sale with sales tax.
With the momentarily low USD USD 799 ~ € 662, so yeah EU pricing is too high and that €51 difference is split up between Samsung and Amazon/other retail channel

The last reason for me to buy a Samsung flagship smartphone was the presence of a micro SD card. Now that's gone too and there's nothing to stop me from buying a Chinese flagship model, which also has no SD card slots and costs half the price. Samsung is trying to match Apple, only Android flagship models are bought by tech freaks and not marketing freaks ala Apple.
Samsung has already tried to omit the SD card in previous S and Notes models. This failed miserably and was a disaster for Samsung. Then there was the battery disaster.
The S and Note 20 models were also a disaster from a technical point of view.
It seems that the Samsung strategists in Korea have learned nothing at all and add new mistakes to the old ones with every new model.

I actually find it funny people complain so much about the plastic back. You are going to put a phone case anyway, so the reason for having a glass back is gone. No one is going to look at the back of your phone and admire for its glass finish. No one cares about it except fashionistas and showoffs.
Compared this with the S21+, I would think very seriously about taking this variant instead. I literally don't see any point of picking the larger screen variant when the screen resolution remains the same. If Samsung put 1440p resolution on S21+ screen, then I may have a second thought.
And btw, flat screen FTW! This looks so much better than last year's curved screen S20.

i know this s21 Regular made from plastic, not like S21plus and S21 ultra made from gorilla glass.
But still this plastic s21 will never break like glass. So interesting, i plan to preorder this, and i will feel free bring it anywhere, throwing it freely to the table without afraid.
it also a light phone according to tech reviewers, only 171 gram. I already have flagship phone Mi 10 Ultra 6.67" and oh boi its big, 221 gr - heavy if use with one hand, and not comfortable. So a light phone s21 is a dream
