I have the s21 FE 5G for almost two years now. The xynos one. Generally speaking it is a nice phone.
But I noticed that it over heats when I used it for a Zoom meeting for more than half an hour, it became very very hot and turned itself off to save the phone.
Also it overheats when I use it as a hot spot, it over heats and the battery drains very very fast. I don't play games in this phone so I don't know if it overheats or nor.

I really wanted to buy this phone for my daughter because at the moment the price dropped to 275eur, of course I need a plus for the charger, but this with the battery confuses me, so now I don't know what to do, the Samsung A54 , 270eur ,has a 5000mAh battery as an option, but people say that it is not really long-lasting, so I'm surprised my Honor 8x 3750mah battery is 5 years old and the battery lasts longer than what you're talking about, but give me your opinion wbecause she wants samsung which one I should buy for my daughter: the Samsung S21, which has better features, or the Samsung A54, which probably has a slightly better battery?

You don't have to "give" or even consent to give. They WILL milk your data. And you not being happy won't be of much importance either.
Moreover, no OEM can collect more than what Google does with its OS. So, essentially (AT MOST) they'll have "a copy of data" that Google already does.
And it's also not like Google is keeping your data in some safe. Its selling it off in the open market. Chinese having copies of some of it will only result in lower prices for the advertisers.
Unless your government gave you the responsibility of keeping the nuclear codes safe, this is all that can happen.

Just my bias but personally don't like Chinese branded phone and I think their UI is pretty poor. As for Nothing phone I don't have an opinion. Warranty service and long term software support are important for me if buying new, that's one advantage of buying more established brand like Samsung, Pixel and iPhone.
If you are buying used, and don't mind PayPal, try Swappa and select the filter option to disable business sellers, that give you a better chance of buying from original owner though be careful of zero rating sellers. I despise PayPal so I stopped using them, but you'll get better quality and price there.

still G.O.A.T. far more positive than A55 such as wireless charge, Samsung dex, better processor, telephoto, 4k60fps. Better save 200 euro on S21fe.

Updates seem to have slowed down, there is wide colour, contrast, white balance and HDR between the main and ultrawide cameras and battery capacity is only at 4800mAh. I'm not more into "performance"-driven phones as I don't do hardcore mobile gaming, vlogging, video editing, non-stop streaming on my phone.
I'd rather have a phone with a newer albeit "underpowered" custom chip (which means the dev team has some control over it which would mean more faster updates), a higher capacity 5000mAh battery, a slightly smaller and lighter footprint and affordable. And that is the Nothing Phone (2a).

Now the battery indicator is bongers on most phones (samsung included) so saying "good" doesn't mean much. Sot has been pretty accurate for me personally on samsung. 4G and mobile data in general, even with good reception. eats battery so maybe dont keep it on if you're not using it?
Other than keeping aeroplane mode on while on wifi and turning off any connections you are not using I dont beleive there's much more you can do.
Any used phone will have some wear on the battery and it doesnt seem to me that it's extraordinarily worn. If it doesnt meet your expectations though, then by all means do return it.
Ps: There are ways to set up your phone so it automatically etners flight mode whennever you connect to your home wi-fi. It is a bit complicated but very much worth the effort.

I always check each app - if i don't need them I uninstall or disable them. I make sure the battery stats is set to Optimized.
If i go out to visit a museum or day out with a friend taking photos (not at full resolution and only 1080p for some videos) for say 2 hours I will be lucky if I will still have 20% by 3pm. And that is what I am worried. I do not feel confident with the S21 FE's endurance time.
I'm planning to return this to the seller. And get a OnePlus 10T or a Nothing Phone 2a.
Any thoughts on that?

The standby time do seem very good to me. But the endurance is not that great.
If i go out and start taking photos in a museum or with my friend half a day in Paris I would be lucky if i still have 20% by 3pm. Does that sound OK with you?
If it's a "normal" 9-5pm weekday i could still have 30% by 9pm which is kind of good for me. Apart from that I don't feel confident if we are talking about endurance.
I plan to return this to the seller. And get a OnePlus 10T or a Nothing Phone 2a instead.
Good idea? Any thoughts on that?

Nowadays it's not even practical anymore buying new phones. They will be pricey (especially if we are talking about flagships or upper midrange ones), software will have bugs and poor optimizations, etc.
I plan to return this to the seller. And get a OnePlus 10T or a Nothing Phone 2a instead.
