Anonymous, 16 Dec 2023You can do fine adjustment of the volume touching/sliding t... moreI have tried that, the slider bar can be moved on the screen with very fine granularity, BUT the volume still jumps on the scale of the 15 steps.
And in any case, i need to use the volume buttons. When I'm out walking its not practical to use the screen slider.

i ever used galaxy a20 before, never experienced any issues related to thermals, performance and battery life. only cons is small storage. 32gb is small due to its system taken up 50% of storage. one ui is amazing😱😱🤯🤯🤯

Snapdragon is better at that. Not saying Exynos has horrible thermals, they're just not as good as Snapdragon's.

..so it is not the case that all androids still have only 15 steps.
Also I imagine samsungs One UI might be able to adjust the volume system defaults.
So I would be very grateful if someone who has a S21 FE could tell me how many volume steps there are.

Can someone please tell me how many volume steps this phone has?
My current android has 15 steps from min to max, and its infuriating not having fine control of the volume, one step is too quiet then you go up one step and its too loud.
I know galaxy phones have the 'Sound Assistant' app, to add up to 150 steps, but some people have said it doesnt work properly.
                Thanks

you have to suffer, 12 Dec 2023a13 and a14 4g are similar in chipset and screen resolution... moreSoC architecture of a14 4g is improved and better than a13 4g and here are the reasons why. There is no logic that both phones have the same performance even though they both use the same CPU Exynos 850. You missed one important fact in specifications.

                                      a13 4g has GPU Mali-G52 while a14 4g has GPU Mali-G52 MC2. They have different specifications.

                                      Mali-G52
2 clusters, each with 2 cores
Base clock speed of 600 MHz
Maximum clock speed of 900 MHz
Pixel fill rate of 1.2 Gpix/s
Texture fill rate of 0.6 Gtexel/s
                                      Peak performance of 2.5 TFLOPS

                                      Mali-G52 MC2
2 clusters, each with 2 cores
Base clock speed of 700 MHz
Maximum clock speed of 1000 MHz
Pixel fill rate of 1.4 Gpix/s
Texture fill rate of 0.7 Gtexel/s
                                      Peak performance of 3 TFLOPS

The main difference between the two GPUs is the clock speed. The Mali-G52 MC2 has a higher base clock speed of 700 MHz, which translates to a 16.67% increase in performance. The Mali-G52 MC2 also has a higher maximum clock speed of 1000 MHz.

Another difference is the pixel fill rate. The Mali-G52 MC2 has a higher pixel fill rate of 1.4 Gpix/s, which translates to a 16.67% increase in performance.

In terms of performance, the Mali-G52 MC2 is generally faster than the Mali-G52. This difference is noticeable in games and other graphics-intensive applications.

For example, in the GFXBench Manhattan 3.1 benchmark, the Mali-G52 MC2 scored 133 fps, while the Mali-G52 scored 112 fps. This is a difference of 18%.

In the 3DMark Wild Life benchmark, the Mali-G52 MC2 scored 2100 points, while the Mali-G52 scored 1700 points. This is a difference of 23%.

The Mali-G52 MC2 is a faster upgraded version of the Mali-G52. I am also certain that CPU Exynos 850 is optimized better in a14 4g SoC than in a13 4g even though I couldn't find that data. It is a newer and better build. It is ridiculous for people to expect excellence in price range of a14 4g phone, but it does a pretty good job, in my opinion, and I tested it.
