When I perform a search with phone finder and these criteria:
- from 2022
- with IPx8 rating (best resistance to water).
- at least 6.5 inch display
- reviewed only

I get these models :
Sony Xperia 1 IV
Oppo Find X5 Pro
Honor Magic4 Pro
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G
Samsung Galaxy S22+
Xiaomi 12S Ultra
OnePlus 10 Pro
vivo X80 Pro

They are all well-rated by gsmarena. Although I would personally avoid Honor.

The battery life of the s21 ultra is significantly better than the s22 plus, but that's not a big surprise, considering the bigger battery (4500mAh vs 5000 mAh). Performance of both is very similar. (see : https://youtu.be/eTbDUnd1OY4).

If you want better battery life and big screen take s21 ultra. If you want a "better experience at holding phone" (and latest) take s22 plus. I was annoyed by the fact that the s21 plus screen is curved. If you just want best bang for the buck, consider S21 FE (but with even less battery life).

Samuel, 14 Aug 2022Hi guys, need some advice. I'm looking for a new phone... moreI'd get the Ultra without a second thought
S22+ is inferior in every way besides the new Exynos obviously, but you won't notice any difference anyway. You would have to skip like 3 generations of Exynos to notice a difference

mehdi, 14 Aug 2022I'm very pleased with the perfect bezel of the s22 plu... moreI agree with the size. I went to the store and the S22+ seemed like the perfect size to hold.
I was wondering for battery life which would be better? And in my region the s21 ultra comes with the exynos 2100 whereas the s22+ comes with the snapdragon 8 gen 1. Would that make a sizeable difference in say 3 years?

It's the plus model and it has a 1080p screen What Where Samsung Thinking, even the s8 has a higher screen resolution. To put this into perspective the note 4 has a higher resolution screen and to me this is just embarrassing

Hi guys, need some advice. I'm looking for a new phone and have either the S22+ or S21 ultra. They cost about the same for the 256gb models where I live. Which should I buy? Is the 1 year gap worth or should I get the s21 ultra instead?

The phone is a pleasure to hold, that's it.

. The s21 ultra is more bulky/heavy, the screen is curved, but it's bigger. I'm unsure if the cam is better. Dxomark gives same score.

should just let a bit thicker for extra 500mah like the ultra did..last 110+ edurance

I used it for social media, browsing, texting, I use my phone as mobile hotspot to connect my laptop 2- 3 hours depending on work daily, and I used to play pubg for an hour not more than an hour under HD graphics setting and high frame rate...Camera usage is like when it is required for outings
My daily SoT was like 4.5 hours including that gaming and excluding the hotspot connection time......So it's a 1.5 days battery phone for me....
                          Overnight drain is minimal 3-4%
                          My device is snapdragon version

Anyone who's used this phone for a while, how is the battery? The battery is perhaps the most important part of a phone atleast for me. I spent most of time out where i can't charge my phone and i don't want it dying on me too fast

Anonymous, 03 Aug 2022I think its about the fuse that gets burned once rooted/boo... moreYes, for the burned fuse. This fuse is here to check if the system was tampered. Some Samsung apps (especially those related to security) would check this fuse, and refuse to work if it is burned. Most apps won't. I've already flashed an old A70, in order to put a more recent version of Android. It works fine.

If you are a custom firmware heavy user, better avoid Samsung as this is a permanent irreversible burned fuse.

Basically if you root/flash a rom, it means that you renounce once for all, to use Knox, and all services that depends on it, in particular Samsung pay. And this can't be reverted.

                                        More details on this here:

If you don't care of this Knox thing, just do what you want. It might affect warranty.
