Anonymous, 14 Apr 2022Hi, which chip is yours SD 8 generation 1? I am thinking to... moreHi,
I'm in the UK so it will be the exynos 2200. Almost 2 days in and going from 95% to 50% I got 6 hours SoT which I thought was really good compared to my old s8 which was dying after 5 years!

(I've spent about 25 min typing this and only just lost 2% approx battery, on dim as its early)

The I've changed are:

To set screen to 60hz mode instead of adaptive. I'm wondering if stuttering/lag people are seeing is crappy adaptive refresh rate code, in that if its jumping all over the place from 120hz to 48hz you are going to notice that more than a locked framerate. Not had any lag or choppy animations.

Other thing I changed is some apps to dark theme and the keyboard but not the OS.

Always on display was always on for above SoT, although today I'm going with "tap to show" as not keen on the battery and finger print icons effectively being on the same position all day (possible burn in?)

Adaptive brightness is on and I am really impressed with clarity and legibility of screen even in bright conditions. I set it to about 50% indoors and let it do its thing when outside or dark bedroom.

I removed all the annoying widgets on home screen and the swipe left thing as restored it to how my s8 layout was. Perhaps home screen widgets cause stutter? 🤷‍♂️

My usage patterns are still being learnt but mostly instagram/social media, WhatsApp, Internet with some video clips. A few hours with Bluetooth headphones on and music. (I have Bluetooth, nfc etc off if not in use). I don't play games on phone as have xbox for that 😬

Zero heating issues, only slight warming when charging (with s8 charger that does approx 1% per min for ref).

I'm mostly on WiFi but sometimes 5g when out at gym, shopping etc.

Also top tip, change the power button long press to actually bring up the power off options instead of bixby.

I alsp have a screen protector on which think is a must even just to make cleaning easier without removing the screen coating. DO NOT use the alcohol wipes most supply, you will remove the oil repelling coating, just stick the protector over top, it's fine. Then when remove it when scratched the screen feels like new.

There where rumours of bad batches of exynos chips that really shouldn't have passed QC, no idea how true it is but my worries prior to buying from what I've read haven't materialised so far.🤞

Bonus was amazon not only delivered next day but gave me option to pay in 12 month instalments at no extra cost! 👍

Anyhow hope this helps!

My 22+ 256gb green (uk) phone just arrived today.

Seems to be running smooth and not temperature issues even when using smart switch to copy over everything.

Only issue I had was smart switch kept asking me to turn on the WiFi when it already was. Had to quit it and restart it. But after that no problems.

Will see how good the SoT is over next few days.🤞

Anonymous, 10 Apr 2022Thats exactly what i was thinking. its so thick it cant be ... moreHow come you get an opportunity to return everything you’ve bought? In India it’s very difficult to return a product!

Ok, After 1 month with S22+ my SOT has been 7hours 10 minutes, or maximum 10 hours when I don't turn screen that much in a day. I wish I can put a screenshot here of my SOT's times. What I said about 19 hours was because my phone tells also how many hours and minutes with the screen off too. So, I'm sorry If I confused anyone.

My last battery results after one week usage:
              SOT: 3h 56m
              Total used: 2d 18h

I was as using Xiaomi from Mi4, but latest versions was really disappointing, so it was really nice to come back to Samsung.

Kinda missed the way older samsung phones in the top of the line segment features a lot.

Dual Sim tray + Micro Sd Card Slot
With charger brick and decent wired earphone inside the box
                With 3.5mm headphone jack

I mean, samsung improved their software interface a lot, but they removed all the important hardware features of the phone. Imagine on their top of the line S series, you get a superb camera specifications, but without expandable storage it may eat a lot of storage when you're into photography and videography.

Ditching 3.5mm headphone jack just to let the consumers buy or shift into the trash wireless earbuds that needs charging and degrading batteries over the time.

Just like apple, you pay more to get less. Kinda disappointed.

Anonymous, 09 Apr 2022Got an S22+... Gotta admit I'm extremely disappointed ... moreThats exactly what i was thinking. its so thick it cant be 7.6mm. i cant believe no one has talked about this yet. so i had the s22 and the battery sucked and i returned it and now i got the s22+ and its way too big and chunky for my liking and its not comfortable holding it especially with a case. so im most likely going to return it. im using the s10 still as its so thin, light and compact and i cant find an alternative but at the same time with better specs. im a girl and i have small hands, and if all you companies are making bigger and heavy phones then looks like i can never switch phones.

Got the phone on 15th march and I am very happy and comfortable with this handset. I liked most is the 45 w fast charge, very fast and quick charging. Secondly the green colour awesome. And the size of the phone length, width and thickness very apt. Also transferring big files from usb very fast. Before I was using 20 plus with memory card. I transferred 100gb very smoothly. Thanks Samsung.

Got an S22+... Gotta admit I'm extremely disappointed with Samsung. Not only have they been lying about the performance (GOS fiasco), the faster 45W charging (only faster by 5mins, seriously? Still way slower than the fast charging for the China brands, & I've used quite a few), but they also lied all about the thickness of the phone! The S22+ is definitely not 7.6mm thick... It's more like slightly less than 9mm (~8.9mm)! Samsung is really going downhill as a company, cutting corners any way they can - GOS cos they are unable to put in an efficient cooling system to take full advantage of the chip performance & still have a decent battery life, & to think they have to resort to lying about the thickness of their phones to make them look more attractive on paper cos they are unable to come up with a slimmer design is just downright disgusting. A dishonest company will never stand the test of time... Once u lose the trust with consumers, it'll be hard for u to recover. Take heed Samsung, if u dun buck up, u may not be around much longer.
