EePee, 06 Feb 2022What?The shape of the phone and camera design is very similar to the Xperia XZ Premium which was released 5 years ago. It's basically that phone's design but with slim bezels and a holepunch (and more cameras), but probably without the 4K display.

If you want a flagship for a cheap price, get an older one from 2-3 yeers ago
Besides, buying an older flagship is way better than buying a current mid ranger. Flagships are the phones they put the most effort in, i don't want any of their mid eanfe afterthoughts

LOL, 06 Feb 2022It's hard to get accessories for Sony phones. Also, So... moreI exclusively used Sony phones for years although some broke on me (may have been my fault to be fair). Switched to Samsung with the Note 9 and it's probably the best phone I've had. Of course they're stopping security updates this year though. I like the features of One UI, not sure if it's possible to emulate that on the more stock android of the latest Xperias. Samsung as a mainstream brand do have better software longevity now though, and their software seems more well rounded than I remember Sony's to be.
For a next phone, losing the headphone jack would be a bit annoying but wouldn't be the end of the world, it's just nice to charge and use it for example on speakers or in the car.

I'll continue to support Sony for as long as they support the headphone jack and SD card slot and you can keep Scamsung and the "cheap generic Chinese" phones

I was in the sa... moreIt's hard to get accessories for Sony phones. Also, Sony doesn't provide changelogs for the sporadic software updates. Sony phones are also obscenely overpriced and underspecc'ed, even its midrange phones.
Only the most loyal Sony fanboys would still buy an Xperia phone, most other former owners of an Xperia phones in 2014-2015 have moved on to other brands.
For the 'headphone jack or no buy' zealots, there are plenty of generic cheap Chinese midrange phones out there which have your precious 3.5mm hole. So go buy one and spare us your whining. Thanks.

aside from fixed focus front cam and relatively slow wireless charging (15w) i think there is zero room for improvement in this phone. This is really the pinnacle of non foldable phones. I wonder how samsung will improve this phone next year :D
