If I wanted to play music from the cloud storage, I might as well stream from a platform like Spotify or SoundCloud.

For short-term purposes such as a vacation, two cloud services are enough, because each cloud service is unlikely to fail within the days that a vacation lasts.
Internet connection is restricted at some locations such as hotels due to a router that does not cover the entire building or because too many people use the limited bandwidth, or it might be slow to begin with, meaning synchronizing gigabytes of 8K footage becomes impractical.
Cellular reception could be weak as well, and cellular data could be expensive, especially abroad.
Some people, including myself, are also not comfortable with sharing every personal photo I make with big corporations like Google, so we would have to auto-sync to a home server through Syncthing or whatever exists out there.
I don't think MicroSD is better or worse than cloud storage, just different. And more options are preferable.

Then I will also have a copy downloaded to Network Attached Storage at home.

However, the lightness of its competitor, iPhone 5s, made photos shakier, and the device likelier to slip out of ones hands.
The weight of the S23 is weight is appropriate given the large battery and sophisticated camera system.

If a phone suffers fall damage during a vacation trip, I would prefer not to lose the recordings from that day.
Or perhaps one should use a dedicated outdoor camera that is not a smartphone. They typically use full-sized SD cards for storage, which is even better than microSD.

Just a heads up, the real weight of the UK version at least of the S23+ is 209g according to my scales, almost 15g more than the official specs. My old phone measured correctly so the scales are fine!

But only chipset upgrade invest lot of money not a wise decision if it would be qhd display then its appeal to buy i shift back to s20 fe 5g with sd 865 beleive me its still a very good phone half of the half price of s23 plus if you dont care about long time update.
