NeonHD, 28 Jan 2023Of course I knew. The 11 is still one of my favourite phone... moreStill no IP rating. Between more resolution I can't see, and a good protection against water, I choose later. I also notice that MIUI has now an option to automatically decrease the resolution to save battery (just like refresh rate). A kind of joke.

Anonymous, 25 Jan 2023Vanilla Xiaomi 11 had QHD+ screen, if you didn’t knowOf course I knew. The 11 is still one of my favourite phones from them.

      So to sum it up:
      1. 1080p display. Even my S9+ from 2018 had 1440p resolution!
      2. No SD card slot.
      3. 8Gb Ram as an ONLY option for a FLAGSHIP phone? it should be at least 12Gb, and even this isn't enough, especially with very memory hungry oneui.
      4. Low spec cameras, like 10mp for 3x optical zoom!? Why would we want this, to see pixels?? The front camera 12mp tiny sensor is even worse.
      5. Only 45w charging and 10 watt wireless charging!? It's 2023, not 2013!

And all this for as little as $1k+. Great
And the ultra model is no better

Samsung is getting worse with each year. They want more profit and stopped caring about their fans long time ago.

I’m techie, and 8GB RAM is enough for me, but not the damn 1080p

All this pointless bickering about the display. The fact of the matter Samsung could've put a sharper display on this $1000 flagship and deliberately chose not to. Stop defending soulless corporations for anti-consumer strategies.

aaronwt, 26 Jan 2023The difference between the two resolutions has always been ... moreIt makes sense to me as well. I guess with the lower resolution it's likely you get an improved battery life. For example if you compare S20+ to S21+ .. That's of course apart from the fact that a more powerful chipset also helps with power efficiency

Anonymous, 26 Jan 2023So perfectly that you can’t even see the 1.7x difference XD because you basically put the phone close to you to try to see the number of pixels

Jemlim, 26 Jan 2023thats a lie. your just trying to prove me wrongThe difference between the two resolutions has always been easy for me to see on the Samsung phones. But, in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't matter to me whether the phone is using 1440 or 1080.

I was initially concerned, when they first dropped the resolution down. When I went from my S10 to an S21. But once I had the S21 in my hands and used it, it was no big deal. Even though I can easily see the resolution difference.

Jemlim, 26 Jan 2023i do wear glasses and can see perfectly, yet the difference... moreAt first, buy a midrange phone if you want a 1080p, not QHD, at second, even if you buy a high-end phone, you still can use 1080p (unless it’s iPhone as far as I know, but I might be wrong about it)

Jemlim, 26 Jan 2023i do wear glasses and can see perfectly, yet the difference... moreI’m currently using iPhone SE2, had RENO5 4g and S7 edge in the past, I broke S7 edge, so I had to buy the new phone, and I’ve noticed a clear difference between FHD+ and QHD, unlike you, I have great eyesight, so it’s your fault that you can’t see the difference XD

Glad it has USB 3.2. Should make transferring files onto 512GB of storage that much more faster and consistent than of cheaper models.

Jemlim, 24 Jan 2023I'm not even trolling, sure it may be better, but not ... moreThere is a difference. Very minimal to maybe a normie but certainly noticeable, especially if you use 1440p as a daily driver and suddenly switch to 1080p.

Main differentiator is scaling. Can fit a lot more text on a 1440p phone and a lot more apps feel like inflated elderly zoom feature like on windows accessibility option compared to 1080p.

                                    1) I need to put your eyes very close to the screen. And that's silly for a normal use. Only people with myopia would do this.
                                    2) Any screen protector would blur enough the pixels, and makes the difference moot.

Getting QHD on such small screen, is pointless. It's funny that I was using 1080p on a 17 inch screen, and it looked fine (off course, not same viewing distance).

Compared to xiaomi 13 pro, s23+ is left behind in terms of screen and camera aspects, not to mention s23 series rumored price hike.

Screen: Ltpo, qhd, 1B, brighter display, samsung amoled e6 (duh, so ironic), better variable refresh rate 1-120Hz
Main cam: 1 inch sensor, bigger pixel size, laser AF
Tele cam: Brigther & faster aperture, 50MP
UW cam: 50MP, AUTOFOCUS ON UW (hey samsung, your base and middle flagship has been using the same UW cam for 4 generations, like iPhone, mind you)
