Bought it from NZ for my wife. Cream colour 256gb 8gb ram I guess.
I'm an apple user and using 14 pro max for main.
Anyway. I think this is a huge step forward android territory so good job Samsung. really satisfied. No charger, No SD card slot and No headphone jack but I am used to it. (of cause I am apple user)
Smooth as a butter, camera, battery life, performance etc.

Now I feel under iPhone12 models are looking terrible without 120hz refresh rates.

Voiceofreason, 13 Feb 2023Seems you are a hater of Samsung. I will counter your point... moreit's not my discussion but most people, like me, wouldn't trade their old S8, that is their awesome music player with the greatest improvement technology has given us, the micro sd card, for a recent smartphone without any sd card slot. Most buyers, who are not young, prefer that "old" technology along with an audio jack, and brands are wrong regarding their design choices.
bad design has ruled the smartphone and computer industry for a while

Waited long time to upgrade. From Note 9. Didn't regret it at all.
One thing that I'm maybe missing is SpO2 meter and heart rate monitor. Nothing else. Yes it doesn't have 3.5 mm jack, but buy a dongle.

Someone said the shutter lag can be fixed using a Gcam port with no drawback.

is that true ? Also can you also shoot full-size raw images ? Because given smartphones give you images that are useable when scaled down to say at the most 50% of their size, if gcam let you shoot raw files it could make the camera interesting.

        Thank you in advance

PhoneFreak45, 13 Feb 2023Cons: - No headphone jack - No expandable storage - Char... moreSeems you are a hater of Samsung. I will counter your points.

-No headphone jack: There are hundreds of cheap wireless headphones to buy now. This excuse has become redundant.

          - No expandable storage: We have cloud storage now and no more in the dark ages. We have all the storage we need now.

          - Charging is slow compared to competitors with 67 watt or even up to 240 watt charging: Don't be ridiculous. Samsung 25 watts charger will charge the phone in 1 hour and 10 minutes and the 45 watts charger charges in 59 minutes. This is more than enough and people who use 67 watts charger and above risk battery deterioration. I think Samsung has the right balance. It's fast enough, but not too fast to destroy battery in the long-run.

          - Base model only has 8GB of RAM, enough for most uses cases but could become an issue in the future: This might be applicable to older Samsung devices, but with the improvement in One UI, Samsung premium devices do not slow down anymore.

          - No official support for custom operating systems like in Google Pixel phones:. What do you mean by this?? Samsung has the best software in android. Better than pixel's and they have improved considerably in updating their devices on time recently.

          - Large size may mean it may not fit in the pockets of some users, especially female users who's jeans tend to be have small pockets for no reason:. This is just a lame excuse. Common really? Every phone maker literally have a large phone. It is what it is. Samsung makes a bad-boy in their ultra and they are usually fantastic. I have seen a lot of ladies with the ultra.

          - Pricetag is considerably more expensive than premium handsets from other brands, such as Motorola, Xiaomi, OnePlus, or Google:. Please don't put those brand in the same sentence as Samsung. Samsung S series only competition is the iPhone.

Anonymous, 12 Feb 2023please... this is nitpicking. "Older" wifi modes ... moreThe chip supports Wifi 7. Then, why not enable it ?

What you need to do is charge your phone to 100 percent then check the battery screen on time and make sure that it's at 0 percent. Then you can start the test to see how much screen on time it will have until the battery run low. No disrespect to the LG V60, but I do not believe the screen on time you claim you have. Only the iPhone 13 pro max and 14 pro max has that kind of battery endurance and now the S23 ultra has joined the party. Several battery tests on YouTube would testify to the great endurance of the S23 ultra and my current test would testify to that as well.

Navneet, 13 Feb 2023a phone with literally no cons! hat's off to Samsung Cons:

davidtb, 13 Feb 2023I think Samsung and other retailers realize the jist of you... moreS22 ultra's price dropped to 700 euros something in europe last week at good retailers'

The battery on the Samsung galaxy S23 ultra is looks promising. I have had mine for 5 days now and tested the battery endurance on the second day and had 6 hours screen on time with less than 20 percent remaining. I was not too happy about this because I thought it would do better than this. Fast forward to day 5 of usage. I am currently on another test of battery endurance and have 3 hours, 22 minutes screen on time used with 70 percent of battery life remaining which is just insane.

My previous phone, the iPhone 13 pro max once got me 10 hours of screen on time with about 4 percent left on battery life. So the Samsung s23 ultra is currently on par to equal or maybe surpass it.

I am a heavy user and will update this page when the battery runs down to 5 percent.

So far the S23 ultra is everything they said it is. It's blazingly fast, not a single stutter and barely gets warm when in use. The camera is amazing as well, though I would like Samsung to send an update to reduce the saturation just a little, then the camera would be perfect.

We need benchmark tests to compare s23 ultra with iphone 14 pro max

                            What a phone

I think Samsung and other retailers realize the jist of your review.
                              The S22 Ultra (12/512) is still $1200US.

The main difference with the ultra phone is the zoom, which hasn't changed in almost 3 years, so why would I replace my S-21 ultra phone with the S23 ultra? Even if the S24 ultra does not have more magnification in the next year, still there has been no change in my opinion, because the processing speed and quality of the phone are enough for normal people in the s21 ultra. isn't it?

Mozay2008, 12 Feb 2023With 1tb or 512gb storage why do you need a card reader 🤔 Have fun recovering your data when your phone stops working.

I learnt it the hard way.

Besides, Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) is defective junk, and with MicroSD, MTP can by bypassed.

Thank you Gsmarena.com for this other extensive review of yours.
It looks like just another disappointing camera on an excellent smartphone to me

It seems it doesn't shoot full-size raw files, it only has one big camera, and I have read the shutter lag is way too much when it comes to shooting anything alive. Detail level on the 200mp...and 50mp seem disappointing.

Thank you very much for your Portrait samples taken from the main cam ;) very useful ! (and disappointing !) Again, you have made me spare more than a 1000 euros because I'm not going to buy this one either :D The two only useable cameras seem to be the honor magic 4 ult. which has three big and good cams but I don't know whether it they offer full-size raw shooting, and the iphone 14 pro that produces okay 48mp raw files, that can be used in photoshop for making good looking and sharp images...and has two tiny cameras that I can't do anything with :p

I thought I was gonna have fun shooting material with okay-priced modern smartphones and be amazed but that's plain wrong it seems :p
