Narazumono, 01 Feb 2023So from what i've seen they made the phone a bit more ... moreYes. Even though the S23 Ultra is huge, and I hate the super large phones and the curved screens, I would have considered getting the S23 Ultra instead of the S23+. Since it would have only cost me $150 more.
But the S23+ will already be too large for me(Plus the Ultra is thicker). Since I've always purchased the base model variant. I really wish all the camera and screen features of the Ultra were also in the S23 and S23+. It would make their pricing more palatable.

So from what i've seen they made the phone a bit more flat but the screen still has a curve even if ever so slightly
Such a shame, and here i was excited they were gonna go for a flat screen
The curved screen was one of the 2 reasons i went for the S22 plus instead ultra and the other being the ridiculous weight of the ultra (the S23 ultra is even heavier!)

dasdas, 01 Feb 2023234 grams for a smartphone is too much. When you add a case... moreI can't vouch for your hands if they struggle to keep less than a quarter of a kilo in your hand, that's a fifth of the weight of a BOOK. Also, the only thing that reviewers seemed to criticize about the Mi 11 Ultra was the uneven weight distribution of the 234 grams it weighed, not the actual weight itself. I feel that my Pixel 7 Pro is rather light, given how it's barely heavier than an iPhone 11, yet is way larger. That's not a compliment, however.

234 grams for a smartphone is too much. When you add a case it adds up 20 grams for the thinnest cases up to 40-50 grams for the thick ones. That is too much. The hand will have a pain if it has to work with that for a whole day

Titled... moreThey will use yes or yes UFS 4.0 in the 128GB variant if it is not manufactured by Samsung it is manufactured by Kioxia (Toshiba) nothing unusual not everything can be done by Samsung even in the Galaxy S8+ they use UFS manufactured by Toshiba

Anonymous, 01 Feb 2023when comparing s23 ultra with s22 ultra here on gsmarena, y... moreMaybe gsmarena made a mistake? They certainly have made mistakes with the specs of other Samsung products in the past.

Snapdragon 8 gen 2 is an overclocked version and they replaced the onboard security with their own Samsung Knox tech.

Superb phone but:
1. No emergency SMS service via satellite like iPhone 14
2. Even more costly
3. 1750 peak brightness is the same as S22 Ultra
Pro: Snapdragon for all customers

when comparing s23 ultra with s22 ultra here on gsmarena, you can see that s22 ultra has 15W wireless charging while the new "improved" s23 ultra has only 10W wireless charging.
why?

Seems to be more of an iterative upgrade than anything, but it's still good to see most of aspects that needed an upgrade being upgraded. For me personally, S21 Ultra is still the gold standard for maintaining a solid balance.
Though there are aspects of S23 Ultra that could have been better:
It's high time they bumped the Refresh Rate to atleast 144Hz, if not for 165Hz.
I hope the change from 40 MP to now 12MP Front Camera doesn't negatively impact the quality of Selfies and is actually better optimised.
The charging speed should have been 65W (safe balance) at the bare minimum and the Charger should, I repeat, should be provided in the box. I don't care too much about wireless charging.
The design seems to be visually identical. I guess, why fix it when it ain't broken.

Everything is great
But the design is repetitive and not attractive
And
The user interface could have a newer look. One UI 5.1 user interface is still not as good as IOS and has not evolved!

Fingers crossed 🤞 the S23 Ultra can finally beat the Puxel 6/7 in the camera department as a phone beating it for less than half the price would be ridiculous like it was for the S22 Ultra. Great to see tsmc manufacturing the cpus now and not Samsung plus a big jump in performance this year as the S22 Ultra was underpowered for it's price regardless of qualcomm or exynoss so never got why the S22 Ultra was considered the best phone when it was underpowered and only had the 3rd best camera. 8GB of ram for £1249 is also ridiculous 12GB of ram should come standard across the board.
